Nobody believes me (because I am making it up) - but he was at our training facility to visit with Fred, when Brazil were here for the pre-WC camp...

There is also a sell-on clause inserted in the deal, with Monaco due to be paid 50 per cent of any transfer fee between €60m and €100m United receive for the player.
that clause as it’s written there makes zero sense for anyone

But then again we got to read Bales contract and it was written worse than if it were hashed out on the back of a napkin in an Amsterdam coffee shop

can anyone see PSG buying Martial? Or Toby for that matter?

Unless they don't go through with the Mbappe deal, surely they couldn't make that work at the inevitable £60m? Ah, maybe another rule-bending loan?

The clause is basically a more complex "x% of any transfer profit", but if I recall correctly (cba looking it up) it was staged so that there were different amounts for different ranges of fee, like 50% of €60m-€80m, then 30% of €80m to €100m, or something like that.

e.g. if they sold him for €85m, Monaco would get an extra €11.5m (50% of €20m, plus 30% of €5m). Something like that

Yeah that would make sense - but it’s not what it says

So either it’s bollocks or the articles dumbed it down so as to be meaningless

Just looked it up again, and it's 50% of the fee between €70m and €90m (so upto €10m)

This is because he's only hit clause (a):
