I'd ignore those comments, it was quite clear what you meant in your original post (y)

Haha fair enough.

Out of curiousity (not aimed at anyone in particular), was there a similar outrage the other day when Townsend came back on after being knocked out? I don't remember seeing any but may not have looked in the right places.

In all fairness the decision should rest with the medical staff on site. As does the responsibility should anything happen to Lloris after the fact.

Neither AVB or Lloris should have had any say in the matter.

So they are now questioning the medical expertise of the great one?

This was the man who was among the first to perform the laying upon of hands to relieve the dead.

This smacks of persecution by the media.

That is all

I'm all for loyalty and getting behind the club but some of you are so blinded by it that it is shocking. Then again I guess you just can't reason with stupidity.

Really unnecessary and harsh. All I'm saying is that if this was such a major thing that FIFA, SSN and all other media outlets are reporting then maybe the FA should have been more proactive and installed guidelines to govern such incidences, rather than waiting for it to happen and then slating the medics and the club for making a decision in the heat of the moment where all kind of variables have come into the place. It's not Spurs' fault it's a matter of opinion what the correct decision was and Arsenal, Spurs and Everton's medics all came to the same conclusion and allowed their players to play on. Flamini was eventually removed. Even Olivier Bernard was allowed to continue after being KO'd by Robert.

Stupidity? All players are now fine, maybe you could submit your service as a Spurs medics. Fabrice may still be playing and not just grateful to be alive if you were there instead of our Docs, maybe he should sue.

Careful there MaccSpurs.

Calling people you disagree with stupid isn't particularly clever in itself and, more importantly, can have a significant impact on your status as a member of SC.

"The most common head injury after a fall, or while playing sports, is a minor concussion.
In rare cases, the trauma of hitting your head can have dire consequences, including bleeding and swelling of the brain.
In some instances, these injuries aren't immediately apparent because the patient may initially be lucid and without serious symptoms."

My Mrs was watching the game with me and she said, "Surely they wont let him stay on the field?" i said "Of course not, he has to go off".... well, WTF do i know eh, or, apparently, the medical staff and powers that be at THFC, but imagine YOUR son having the same thing happen to him in a Sunday league game...imagine it... and the coach allows him to stay on the pitch... yeah different story.

Natasha Richardson springs to mind, a simple accident on a ski slope, no apparent signs of injury and she was even joking about her fall, yet within a couple of hours everything had changed and she was all but dead.
Everything that should have been done by way of precaution for Lloris' health and well being was abandoned in the game.
There is no doubt that Lloris was let down by the medical staff, and referee, when he was allowed to stay on the pitch....had he later dropped dead or into a coma...all of those who are saying it was alright/acceptable for him to stay would be pointing the finger at the sideline, AVB, Med team, officials etc...

What utter tosh some of you speak.

Rolling of one's ankle is not the same as being knocked unconscious. Firstly, with a rolled ankle the injury is clearly established and the scan just diagnoses the extent of the injury.

Added to that my point is simply to establish that a few tests on the football field in no way establish the same amount of detail as a scan. So those that are stupid enough to believe otherwise need to be told.

Why tell us, tell the clubs medical staff, again don't forget to include your qualifications.

This is why I always slam our medical setup. Truly amateurish and it has been like this for years. Same thing last week with Townsend under no circumstances should he of been allowed back on the field.

Now if we ignore that both players could have had serious head injurys (you cannot judge in a few minutes on the pitch in front of thousands) if the players then had to retire as a result of the clash, the insurance would never cover it.

I have always thought with head injuries that there should be an automatic subsititution forced by the officials even if all subs had been used. So if we had used all 3 subs Friedel would still have been allowed on because Lloris could not continue.

No other circumstances other than head injuries however so the system is not abused.

I really wonder how some people get out of bed in the mornings? You never know that big step down might lead you to twist an ankle or something...

As to crossing the road... I hope everyone always waits for the little green man... (hmmm not sure what to do when no crossing around :blackeye:)

Yes, because getting hit by thousands of pounds of force in the temple is comparable to twisting an ankle getting out of bed...

I did buddy, back in September. Not sure if I cleared anything up or made the situation cloudier sadly!

I do not really come on much, only on because the Under 21s got called off tonight at short notice leaving me with a free night.

No you didn't. You ignored us for months until we got to the stage where A&C banned you from the transfer forums.

I know it is different medical procedures but I remember reading that in american sports they have started to roll out some sort of test where the player must not only pass a test on their head, the player then sits out a week longer than necessary to be 100%sure.

also if they fail by just 1 %they are still kept out of the game again to be sure.

the main thing is that hugo is ok.

@Rob

I was worried as people kept trying to guess who I was so I stopped looking at the messages. I would never deliberately ignore messages if I knew they were from the top brass.

Top sight with lots of good debate.

I thought you no longer worked at the club?
