I'm not going to add anything more as I've already said enough but can people please stop the, 'Well you clearly know more than the professionals' line. I've read enough today in papers and websites, plus enough talk on radio to know that not one professional has come out and said, 'Spurs got it spot on'. All day long I've heard and seen from charity organisations, doctors, professors, all of whom have been critical of the way the situation was handled (AVB, Referee, Spurs medical staff). So, whilst I and some others have no medical training to back up what we are saying, numerous highly qualified individuals (As qualified as our medical staff) have all come out saying the same as others on this site.

Oh and again, how tough Hugo is has nothing to do with the situation, it is commendable, but it shouldn't have been his decision to make - like going to A&E with a broken ankle then telling the doctor they are a dick for suggesting a cast.

There is nothing commendable about what Hugo did. He didn't even know what he was doing or what the score was. How did he know he was being brave? He didn't know what had happened.

As much as our staff are at fault, so is the referee in my opinion.

The referee has no power to enforce a substitution, the responsibility lies solely with the manager/coach.

It was only a matter of time before a negative thread appeared about the medical staff, how they've escaped the negativity until this point is beyond me.

After all we only have a doctor on the bench and fully qualified medical staff and what the fuck do they know.

Not as much as the average fan or the media hacks, or at least it seems that way by the overkill on what happened.

@Rob

I was worried as people kept trying to guess who I was so I stopped looking at the messages. I would never deliberately ignore messages if I knew they were from the top brass.

Top sight with lots of good debate.

Sorry but this is rubbish. After we spent ages trying to get in touch with you, someone mentioned it to you on JA606 and you said you'd missed it as you were moving house or something but would get in touch with us now you knew we'd been trying. You never did.

We even added a popup on here where you'd get a notification every time you visited the site saying to get in touch with us. It was impossible to miss but you ignored it, despite being online many times.

We spent a long time being polite and giving you the benefit of the doubt but it's got ridiculous. We know who you are and can't reconcile that with your claims of being ITK and even if you were ITK to some degree, at this stage we don't trust you at all. Sorry.

The Club can confirm that Hugo Lloris underwent a precautionary CT scan and was given the all-clear and travelled back to London last night.

The France goalkeeper suffered a knock to the head following a collision with Everton forward Romelu Lukaku in the closing stages of yesterday's Premier League encounter at Goodison Park and was cleared to resume playing after examination by the Club's medical team.

Head of Medical Services Wayne Diesel said: "Once the relevant tests and assessments were carried out we were totally satisfied that he was fit to continue playing."

Except, Wayne Diesel, you cannot perform relevant tests on a football pitch. You can perform a rapid neurological examination, like checking someone's pupils, they way they are walking and talking - quite easily all normal even if he had suffered an intracranial haemorrhage so soon after a head injury.

Hugo Lloris should have had his cervical spine immobilised (note that none of the players went to move him when he was down for this reason), been taken off the pitch immediately and observed for several hours for his conscious level and any signs of brain injury! Doing a CT scan after the match is like saying "ok, we'll just make sure you now don't have bleeding in the brain that might need urgent neurosurgery, now that you saved us the match".

What annoys me more is this ridiculous statement saying the medical staff were "totally satisfied" he could continue playing when it was clear they initially tried to get him off the pitch, as they knew they would and should have done and the fact they say they did a precautionary CT scan as if to make it sound like they treated him well. Rubbish!!!

Sorry to go on about this, but I feel quite strongly, especially because Lloris gives his everything for us. I've written to Spurs, but don't know if they'll respond.

You tell him he doesn't have a choice and that he has to come off due to the nature of the incident.

It's that simple.

Don't listen to the guy who's just been knocked unconscious by a knee to the head.

On second thoughts, perhaps we should have let him drive the team bus home, if he wanted to.

Bla Bla Bla move on... Blown way out of proportion....

A lot of the charities in my honest opinion are using this as cheap advertisement, quick lets get our name on the radio or in the papers or on TV...

The referee has a responsibility for the players welfare as well though.

At a professional level? I don't see how the ref could force Spurs or Hugo to do anything.

Now, I would have been breaking the law for allowing a YOUTH player to continue after something like that in Minnesota, but at a pro level with adults? If the player says continue and the team says to continue, the ref can't really do anything the way the laws/FA rules are written.

Maybe random groups are jumping on a bandwagon.

Doesn't change the fact that a Spurs player was knocked out then allowed to play on despite a number of qualified people disagreeing with the decision.

So, I disagree this has been blown out of proportion, from a medical perspective I think it's a very pertinent question.
