Given the ructions going on at City at the moment it really wouldn't surprise me if he decided it was time for a move.

Does anybody else think that Isaakson (Spelling?) would be a good keeper. Probably should have asked this before he conceded 8 at Boro

No. And nor do many City fans. The same goes for Scmeichel Junior, before anyone asks.

I think Joe Hart is vastly over-rated to be honest... I'd rather get someone from the continent...language may be a problem but I think English goalkeepers are rubbish and the media destorys them if they make 1 mistake

I thought Speroni looked very commanding and a good shot stopper over the weekend. With Palace not coming up (well, its doubtful) he might be worth a punt for cover. Would fit the description of the older head to Joe Hart.

But would Hart really want to come? What could we offer him that City can't?

God, thats a depressing question. I can't believe I'm even asking it. :-(

speroni is the epitome of inconsistent.. and he's utterly barking as well, what with his lucky tracksuit bottoms and all. I watched palace a fair bit the year before they came up and then a few times the year they were up and he was exactly the sort of keeper that makes you break bits of your seat off . He had this strange habit of standing either off the pitch or right on the far post at corners then running forwards when the kick was taken.. very disconcerting indeed

IMO we should try and unsettle Ben Foster, he can't be happy sitting around on the bench all the time.

Mini-Schmeichel really isn't that good. Not from what I've seen, and, far more authoritatively, from what my brother-in-law and his sons, all City ST holders, have said.

Too many question-marks over Kirkland's fitness for me.

Cool. Cheers for that. Makes sense as he struck me on the weekend as Prem class, but he's obviously at Palace for a reason (with due respect to the Eagles).

I agreed with you on kirkland until recent weeks. I've seen Wigan a few times and he is just awesome. A terrific keeper who'd be at a top 6 club were his hands not made of glass. However, he does look like he's beginning to put his injury troubles behind him. I'll be honest I'd take a punt for 4-5m.

And I couldn't agree more on Schmeichel. It astounds me the number of people who'd have him at Spurs on here. He was poor bordering on the bad whenever I've seen him bar a couple of magic saves, which proves you can inherit good reflexes but genes can only take you so far. I'd be mortified if we chose him over even Alnwick as number 2.

i think we can all assume alnwick is gone for good. As is cerny, with robbo not far behind id presume.

So 3 keepers needed, shit ey. that could take a chunk out of the transfer budget unless we get 1 or 2 on freebies. jaaskerleinen??

Yeah, Jussi would be good. Especially with a Hart-esque guy alongside him.

And really I just meant that if we got rid of Alnwick and brought in Schmeichel I would be forced to wonder what the raging fuck was going on.

Now that they are relegated, what about Birmingham's goalie - Mat Taylor? Better than Robbo but at the wrong club IMO.

Kirkland was always rated above Robbo in that cohort of England keepers, and I'd agree he has been very good indeed . Still, about six years of hardly playing at all because of injuries has got to make for a big uestion mark.
