I'm gonna be lazy and leave this one open as all of you know what i mean...spent lots of money, great players who could leave etc..and it is a fan's worst nightmare aside from dissolution..

what because we're lot more financially sound? If we were to go down and i dont think for a minute we will..but if we were, we'd lose all if not most of our best players..

..but then would we bounce back?

this is all hypothetical trust me...if we dont beat wigan at home...wow

spend lots of money? when was that then? the club only claims weve spent 5million. I frankly cant see how theyve arrived at that figure and think were in profit. on top of that add the 36000 ppl paying silly money to watch the team and your left with a pretty big cash cow.
leeds? not a chance. enic value their dividends too much!

Luckily I think the only positive at the moment is we've got practically no chance of doing a Leeds.

You can slag off Levy all you like, but the one thing he won't do is fuck this club up financially. A lot of people on here have been slagging his transfer policy which means we only buy young players with decent potential resale values and to an extent I agree with them. The difficulty is finding the balance between what we're doing and what Leeds did, which was buying anyone who would improve the team, no matter what the price and (crucially) paying stupidly high wages.

I don't know for sure, but I'd be surprised if there are many clubs in better shape than us financially (in terms of balancing the book I mean, not Chelsea / Man City / etc). It'd be nice if we could say that about our football though.

simply no - the situations aren't remotely the same

we're one of the few clubs who could get relegated and still turn in a profit - in fact knowing us we probably would

of course we could slip down a division or even two but it wouldn't be doing a Leeds cos they ran their club on a different model

It's OK we'll be fine. If we're still bottom at Xmas we can buy Alan Smith, Lee Bowyer and Viduka to get us out of trouble.

No. If, however, we buckled to pressure from other clubs to pay large, lump fees for their players and sell our players under value, then yes, perhaps we would be.

I wish leeds got to champions league remember?
At the expense of our premier league status? They have had some highs and lows. Hopefully in a few years we will have some CL memories, but with the prospect of more in the near future.

Very different.

Leeds spent money they didn't have and assumed it would be recouped through annual CL appearances.

We're spending money that we have and hoping to make CL so that we can spend more later.

Leeds put the cart before the horse. You did see that we sold Berbatov and Keane, right? Leeds didn't sell players to buy players.

Will Barcelona be relegated? Two losses in their first two games. Will Milan be relegated? Two losses in their first two games. To be fair we've had a loss more than them, due to the simple fact that the prem has two rounds more than them, but the "statistics speak for themselves".

Levy may have made a mistake dumping rad stained George before the semi against the scum, and pulling the carpet at the wrong time from under Jol, but he has sorted out the financials.

Spurs must be once of the cash healthiest clubs in the world.

Financials comparisons with Leeds are unfounded.

Then again we haven't been in the top 3 for the past 4 years either.

Do people even have a basic grasp of finance/business?

Do you know what the problem with Leeds was? Really?

Because if you did, you wouldn't even consider us in the same breathe. Especially as we turn a profit year-in, year-out. It beggars belief.

Listen all you youngsters the season we spend in the Championship on the way down to League One will be one of the most enjoyable ones you ever experience! New places to visit, being a big fish in a small pond, great.
