Pisses me off when people say we should sign Mata. Do they not know why Mourinho got rid of him?

Workrate.. People like him though because he has a bit of magic in his boots.. I'd take him.. you need to break down & park the bus team he would be a great option to have.. I think if he was to be a starter it would require a change of formation though which won't happen.. but could see a 3 man cm of Dier, Dembele & Mata been a good mix.. Signing him to play in the wide positions would be pointless though

Who's suggested him besides me? In the post I did suggest him, I did state (ask) if he was outed by Mourinho because of his lack of work rate & not doing the dirty work.

You're hard work, can't really discuss anymore if you're not willing to put a name forward so...

I'm sticking with Carrick or a player who has experience, it's something that we were severely lacking this season. We need a personality in there I think and someone who will prove a positive influence on our youngsters, Carrick is perfect

Genuine question.... is he really much of a personality?

Our revenue stream next season is going to explode with the television rights deal adding at least 50 million additional pounds. It's not about liquid cash on hand for us. It's about guaranteed income in the coming years. That upcoming tv money is also going to be partially paid out early, too, so we should have plenty of money to make the initial installments payments for our necessary signings.

Townsend sale (12 million)+TV money increase (50-55 million)+CL Group Stage money (30-35 million)= 92-102 million pounds of new revenue, not including sales of additional players. With a wage bill under 100 million pounds and a turnover close to 280 million pounds, we have ample room to make 3-4 additions on good wages and offer contract extensions to our key players, too.

might of been answered, but also worth noting we will have 4k less supporters for most of the season.

on the playing side
GK= Lloris + New Keeper or promote Glover

RB's = Walker, as I read in another thread, had his best spell when being rotated, since 1 match a week, his form dropped. his crossing is so frustrating even when playing well, either takes 1 too many touches, or balloons it in the middle of nowhere. if Trippier had his pace, I would put him in for Walker

CB's = Toby no comments needed really, 1 of the 1st names on the sheet, hopefully CCV will show his talents in pre-season
Jan and Wimmer, Jan improved this season, but felt sorry for Wimmer, and hope he gets enough game time to keep him here

LB's = Rose and Davies, Rose just seems to be getting better every season, just wished he could produce a better final ball, though it's better than Walkers. only trouble is the way we play however good that final ball is, all too recent we haven't had enough bodies in the area. I wouldn't be overly upset if Davies was sold providing we could find a better replacement, but like in a lot of positions better replacements might not want as much rotation or bench warming, and i'd not be shocked if Davies proded for a move to get more playing time himself.

CDM = Dier + New signing, Dier another one that will be on the team sheet very early on, but this season was well over played, and think it showed a few times. the funny thing is next season we won't be playing many extra matches than we have this season, so we need very good cover for Dier, but we also got to understand whoever we bring in needs to know they might only get 8-10 matches in a season, and if they do get a lot more how will Dier react.

CM = Dembele, Alli (Mason/Carroll/Bentaleb) and possibly Winks and Onamah, I know Onamah hasn't played there under Poch, but thought I heard that was his position he played for the U21's. I think Alli will be used as cover the 1st 4 games of Dembele's ban, and i'd not be shocked if all 3 in brackets are sold, though either Mason or Carroll are the 2 that I don't think would kick up a fuss playing as squad players.

ATM = Eriksen now I know he scored a few goes, and a few vital ones, he also was 1 of the top assisters in the PL, but one of his main assets in his 1st 2 seasons was his free kicks. I might be old and forgetful here, but I can't remember the last time he took a free kick from a dangerous position and actually either scored or forced the keeper into a brilliant save? and I know he has a few assist from corners/set pieces, but overall his distribution on them hasn't been as good, perhaps he just doesn't like the ball used this season, or been trying too hard. I kind of hope if Pritchard is retained and not loaned out, he has the same effect Davies has had on Rose

Lamela, well I was 1 of his biggest defenders in his 1st season, by the end of last season I stopped defending, and now he is back on side, a hell of an improvement this season, love his work rate, even if his challenges do worry me. if he had picked up a red or 2 this season, I don't think he could of really complained.

Alli ( I know all ready got him as CM), don't want him to curb his attitude in a sense if he isn't fired up, I'm not sure what we would get, but he really has to not step over the line, next season refs will be watching him like a hawk. my only other worry about the lad is, if we buy a striker to play up with Kane, or a Mahre/Payet type player, will Alli get to play as much, and how he will react if a wide forward or striker does enough to warrant starting with Kane.

Chadli, scored some valuable goals as a sub, but I really don't think he is mobile enough to do what Poch requires, and after the disappointment of missing out in the Euro's I think he might want to go just to get enough playtime.

Son/N'jie both haven't even had time to settle in our get enough opportunity in the team in their 1st season. with Son though I do believe he should be given enough time, he might of not scored many, but scored on his home debut in EL & PL, and I thought he played well v Chelsea and Southampton, not going to comment about Newcastle, cause the real damage was done in the 1st half, and we really only had Lamela playing his socks off in that match.

ST = Kane + New signing, Kane like Toby, Dier, has to start, trouble is he will now be playing the Euros, he will not get rested in the CL, I'm not to sure he will like it too much being rested in the PL. I'm sure with another striker Poch will sort it out, but too much strengthening might ruin some of that harmony that has been there most of this season just gone.

the position Carrick would play giving Dier a break, doesn't require a speed merchant. Carrick has covered at centre back on so many occasions and is a master even still at reading the game, and distributing the ball.

as I mentioned in my above post, we need experience, but we also need players in some positions that know they won't be starting 25% of our matches.

in the old wish list thread I kept seeing Cavalho (sp) he wouldn't want to come here and sit on the bench, and I doubt Dier would either, and if we can find some experience on the cheap in 1 of the needed areas, it will give us more funds for other needed areas.

there was many matches last season we could of done with a Carrick/Cambiaso, and there was also quite a few occasions where had Levy purchased Berahino or another striker we would now not be posting these threads because we would all still be pissed and partying still:ROFLMAO:

What we need is to sign better players as subs and have the current subs competing with the new players for the bench

He did work very hard for the team under AVB especially during that CL run, I think Mourinho got rid of him because he had Hazard who was more of a game changer and didnt work for the team at all and need to compensate with Willian and Fabregas playing CM in the hole

I reckon Wimmer could make the move to midfield like Dier did should we need him there. He might be happier with more playing time too.

I'm wondering if Schniederlin would become available especially with Rooney moving back into midfield? Could be worth a punt.
