Not really sure where this goes - but I think its worth noting that we won't really have significantly more revenue than last season - the shared revenue is only up £7M - from £88M last season, to £95M this season. We will have CL money, but I expect Levy will be careful about spending that money.

We need someone who can cross the ball.

I'm not saying we should sign him but this knockaert at Brighton has put in some absolutely top quality crosses tonight. When I see walkers crosses I feel like I'm watching conference standard

I think trip puts in a good cross

Our revenue stream next season is going to explode with the television rights deal adding at least 50 million additional pounds. It's not about liquid cash on hand for us. It's about guaranteed income in the coming years. That upcoming tv money is also going to be partially paid out early, too, so we should have plenty of money to make the initial installments payments for our necessary signings.

Townsend sale (12 million)+TV money increase (50-55 million)+CL Group Stage money (30-35 million)= 92-102 million pounds of new revenue, not including sales of additional players. With a wage bill under 100 million pounds and a turnover close to 280 million pounds, we have ample room to make 3-4 additions on good wages and offer contract extensions to our key players, too.

Why on earth are you looking at getting rid of N'Jie already?

He's a young player acclimatising to a new league and also suffered a fair amount of injury problems, although showed promise.

Give the lad a chance dude...
I think we need a certain type of player to improve our first team and that's the most bloated area of our squad so tough choices need to be made. I'd rather Pritchard got his chance.

We really lack creativity, right? Someone who can produce a moment of quality to unlock the parked bus merchants?

Is it absurd to suggest the possibility of Mata, now that Mourinho looks United bound? They really didn't get along at Chel$ki, did they? So would Mata likely be surplus to requirements again?

That said, I can't remember if Mourinho's issue with Mata, was because he has a lack of work-rate & doesn't do the dirty work? Probably on big wages, too?

I thought that was the cost of the whole NDP, rather than just the stadium, which is around the £500mil mark? But I do get & agree with your point. It's a massive project & it isn't being done for free.

It's for the whole and we've already paid some. It was just to show that just because we have the new tv deal don't expect us to be splashing out.

Ah I get you now. You were simply applying common sense to the discussion. Spot on fella!

It's just that people get all excited about new money coming in and expect us to splash £30m on players, when that doesn't happen they go mental. Happens every year.
Would love us to bring in a few star players this summer, but will prepare myself to expect small buys like tripier, wimmer. Hopefully they can turn out like alli.

I hear ya loud & clear. They see the club records when they're announced, then instantly think we can spunk that on X, Y & Z, without sparing a single thought for not only the cost of our new stadium, but also the massive restrictions that were placed upon our neighbours when their stadium was finished.

The same people who bemoan the lack of net spend etc, would be equally as vocal if Levy was splashing the cash now, only to them not have a pot to piss in when the stadium is up & running. Levy has been very vocal/clear since day 1 of the stadium announcement. He is doing all he can to ensure we are able to still improve the first team when we start using the new stadium. What's the point in spending hundreds of millions of pounds on a World Class stadium & training facility/lodge, if the team is just going to gradually get worse or be sold off because of crippling debts?

Potential targets in PL:
Oscar: young, can press, got an engine, terrible last season (cut price deal available?), PL/CL exp, can do most things, will likely fit into this squad.
Costa: Proven PL/CL goal scoring record, terrible last (cut price deal available?), potential time bomb.
Carrick: Porven PL/CL exp, can come on a free?, great positional sense can probably teach Dier a thing or 2, WHL familiarity
Tadic: Clever playmaker although unsure about work rate, may settle for squad role
Cabaye: Same as above and solves our CM 'problem
Wijnaldum: 11 goals from midfield enough said.
Arnautovic: Strong ax an ox and gets you goals although unsure about work rate.
Pelle: seems to have fallen out of favor (cut price deal available?) proven PL goal scoring record; holds up and can see a pass.

Bayern sold him at the right time. Struggled with injuries and hasn't quite been the same since. Still a good leader with lots of experience.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about Schwinstieger, I was talking about Schniderlin.

I could be wrong but Carrick would be a no go considering how we play?

Was popping in to say exactly the same thing....
