According to SSN Arsenal have made a profit of over £17,000,000 in the 6 months to November 2012 and have £123,300,000 in the bank.

Apparently they're planning on spending big this summer.

We're going to have our work cut out competing with that sort of spending but as Chelsea have shown us this season, spending big doesn't mean we won't be able to compete with them.

With big spending comes bit expectations. When they don't keep up with City and United next season, the pressure will only continue to build on Wenger.

From what I can gather from Gooner folk, their board come out with this guff every summer about how much money they have in the bank and how they can spend really big if needs be, but it never materialises.

A lot of their fans see through it now and say its a propoganda tool to wet the appetite of the fans, after all it is season ticket renewal time.

Wenger said the other day he has enough money to buy Falcao, £40million for his transfer fee and £40million for his wages so that figure will most definitely include wages

I'm sure Wenger has called Georgie Thompson personally to thank her and the Sky team for telling the football world how much money they have to spend.

Daniel Levy 'So, Mr Wenger, you'd like to buy Younes Kaboul? That'll be £123m please. What about Kyle Naughton? He's on special offer at the moment, just £123m'

I wouldn't worry about what other teams do or how much money they have to spend, what Spurs do is the only thing that matters to me and we should be delighted with the way the club has progressed in the last few seasons.

They did it themselves, could they have held some information back or is it required?

Very much this. The positive spin and impression of being upwardly mobile whilst selling the best players is one thing that both Spurs and Arsenal certainly have in common.

123 million sitting in a bank is dead money. The shareholders would want more investment and more dividends and the taxman would be after his slice whichever way he can.

I don't know if it is still true but at one time AFC we obliged by their lenders to maintain a sum of £50 million available at short notice as lending terms.

Plus if they are in the Europa next season they'll need a few extra quid to keep going.

You know what ? I just read the article in The Guardian and got to thinking without too much trouble the same thing, Van Persie, TH, and the gone to Manc outcasts.

Take that away and you begin to wonder where the money is going ?

We can write a big chunk of that off for them if we knock them out of the top 4 (y)

That's insane, if they're not in the CL then that money won't get them all the players they want anyway.
