I just want to see as others have said a collective committed 100% performance from the team and keep it tight. I do worry about Sanchez tho our defense is tailor made for him to terrorise.

From Waterloo, take Northern Line to Kings Cross, then Piccadilly Line to Holloway Rd.

From Liverpool St, take Hammersmith & City/Circle Line to Kings Cross, then Piccadilly Line to Holloway Rd. Or take Central Line to Holborn, then Piccadilly Line to Holloway Rd.

Cheers!

My problem really is poch ATM.

My problem with him is that he has no plan b. Stubborn just like AVB.

It's fine when you are at somebody like Southampton who don't expect to win most games where teams come to attack you you can go and press like a maniac and totally surprise them it works it's the element of surprise If Southampton lost nobody moaned or made a fuss they didn't expect to win games so the gung ho crazy approach would work.
But with us we expect to win most games teams stand off against us so when you press without any coordination it makes it easy for teams to pass around us. What I fail to see with poch is pressing is what's the method to pressing them we just run straight at them don't press them onto a weaker foot or so on don't press to cut off passing lines. It's to easy for teams. You can't press a team that's sitting deep vs you!. You win the ball up the pitch YEH maybe? But they are still in shape you can't break them down that way.
His stubbornness will cost us today especially if we press against arsenal they will rip us apart but today its on pochettino's head if we wants to remain stubborn and have no plan b so be it.
He either develops another tactic or he can have his p45 by January.

We either today set up rigid with a 4-5-1

Lloris
Naughton Fazio Vert Rose
Capoue Stambouli
Lamela Dembele Eriksen
Kane

And bully them and try to pinch a point

Or we carry on doing what poch is doing chase the ball with no plan or ideas and watch arsenal pass around us and score willy nilly

The pessimism in this thread would be greatly reduced had Pochettino started Vertonghen instead of Chiriches last week. That singular decision cost us that game. Chiriches created panic in the side with his repeated early mistakes and it clearly had an impact on both the team (who knew they could concede at any time with that back two) and the supporters in the stands. So, the first order of business is for Poch to reinsert Vertonghen at CB. Playing Chiriches over Jan today would be the type of decision that would cause an early credibility crisis for our manager. There's no rationale footballing argument as for why Vertonghen shouldn't start.

Beyond that, I think we would be insane to drop any of Eriksen, Chadli, and Lamela. They are by far our best players in those three attacking positions, and their individual skill sets and end product make playing the far inferior Lennon and Townsend a non-starter for me (all this talk of needing pace and width is meaningless without a discussion of the fact that these two have fewer goals between them in their last 60 EPL hours of game time than Chadli has in 5 games).

I'd stick with a Dembele/Capoue axis in the middle. We need tough tackling and ball retention there. We simply cannot concede an early goal, as we struggle to get score against the top sides enough as it is.

The key to the game is end product. We have 2 goals in our last 9 games against Arsenal, City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. That's not remotely good enough. I know Adebayor will start, but if he doesn't take his chances or at least create a bit for the other attacking 3, Poch will need to make a change at half-time.

All in all, it's a game we could absolutely win, but a lot of it will come down to personnel decisions. If Poch gets that right, and the lads speed up the pace and take their chances, we will grab something today. Play the likes of Chiriches, Lennon, and Townsend and we will more than likely lose.

Verts carrying an injury, which may be why he's not playing in the most competitive matches. You need your best players to be fit for the latter part of the season. Look at what happened to the Goons after Twonil snapped his ACL.

I heard it wasn't an injury but a bit of a fall out with Poch, certainly hasn't looked injured in the last couple of games he's played

Only hope I have we might win is beginner's luck for both Poch and my four-month-old son in their first NLDs...

Normally on my early morning run I see magpies lol...every time I see more than two on a Friday morning we always win at the weekend, or at least draw...this trend has been going for months!! Every time I see one we always lose.

Suffice to say, for the first time ever, I saw just one magpie on three separate occasions this morning.

Wasn't expecting anything anyway lol

I woke up today at around 12.00 and walked home and saw three magpies. Hope we get three points then.

But if the Plan B is that good then surely it should be Plan A. But then you're back to having no Plan B again. So you should pick a Plan B that isn't very good. But then there's no point in having a plan that isn't very good. So you should probably have a Plan A that is very good and a Plan B that is good sometimes. Then you just have to know when the sometimes are. Easy.

How can anybody say we can win? The best chance is to park the bus and counter attack. I say play Lennon and play for a penalty.

Course we can win, hasn't Villa and Leicester caused upsets despite having inferior teams this season?

Getting sick and tired of all these doom and gloom merchants, have some belief ffs.

I asked my contact about Verts and Poch: apparently, no problem. Also, he looked injured, the left thigh affected.

I don't care if we lose. I just want Stomboulli to score and dive into the crown and join in with the Sol Campbell song.

Stoke won at city, WBA beat us to name but 2 very recent and very unlikely victories. Have some faith.

Vertonghen played 90 minutes against Partizan and Forest in the last two weeks. It seems highly unlikely he is carrying any kind of injury serious enough to keep him out of the starting line-up.

Ultimate frustration 11, play for the draw because there is no way we will outplay them! Lamela just there to go on solo runs as our only attacking outlet. :D:barefoot:
