What a belter of a match (I watched on SS1). End to end stuff. Gutted we didn't grab the 3 points and think we almost looked surprised with the number of early chances we created - all of them absent from MOTD2's highlights. Dembele had the pick at the start, passing when a shot may have earnt us an early goal.

But, saying that, The Scum came at us and if they had a decent fit striker could have punished us. Koscielny and Giroud should both have scored from headers in the box as should Eric Dier. In the end 1-1 was not a massive disappointment but they were there for the taking. Minus Walcott, Ox and Welbeck they looked a shadow of the team that beat Bayern.

Thought Dembele and Alli had yet another brilliant game in the centre of midfield and apart from the shaky period towards the end, our back 4 were good, with Lloris once again outstanding.

Fills me with huge optimism and confidence - amazing that our performance at the Emirates was far more dynamic than those I've seen at WHL, where we appear to be more ponderous. Wonder if the larger pitch size actually gave us the advantage as I think our expansive passing game with our full backs is massively restricted at home games. Almost a shame the International Break is upon us given our recent form, but we have played a lot of games in quick succession and probably deserve a rest.

Yeah Zonal marking really doesn't work. The way we're shipping goals this season is disgust...oh, wait..,,
Its one of those bullshit Sky pundit claims by the likes of Cottee/Merson/McInally.
Its up there with 'foreigner players go down easily'...they bloody love that one.

I think we look better when teams come at us to play as opposed to teams who sit back and squeeze the game but yeah I also think you're right playing on a bigger pitch helps us.

Agree 100%. Another one peddled out is putting players on the posts at corners. Stats now showing that more goals are saved from taking players off the posts than leaving them there. Of course, once a team concedes they will highlight the fact that the post was open as opposed to the other clearances made by having extra players attack the ball or the ability to leave three up top.

I wish they would highlight things like avoiding conceding needless corners - Danny Rose twice yesterday for example - or allowing an obviously left footed player on the right to cut back on to his dominant foot to bend in a cross.

Wenger is NEVER able to give any credit to any teams Arsenal play. What a miserable illusionist he is. I would have felt totally embarrassed have a head-coach/manager like that. Hard find a worse loser than him (ok, they did not lose but would have deserved it).

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/474563/Arsenal-Tottenham-Arsene-Wenger-Kieran-Gibbs

Wenger claimed Cazorla was only at 30 per cent because of a dizzy spell despite waiting 45 minutes before taking him off.

The Arsenal boss said: “Cazorla was not at the races. He was at thirty per cent. He was dizzy. He is not sick.

“He was just dizzy and he couldn’t move. I didn’t really know what he had. I hope it isn’t bad. He’s alright now.

“Mentally we were at the races. We did fight. I just saw that Cazorla is usually the guide in our game and he didn’t get the ball. Tottenham are a good side when you play with one guy less.

“We have shown character again today. We were a bit on the ropes. But we responded. I think we respond well.”

He's just deflecting from his own team's performance... Would expect nothing less from a manager given the context.

Just a thought, we've now played the 2 teams most tipped to win the league.
We beat City 4.1.
We just out played Arsenal in their own backyard and should have won.
We got a draw against Liverpool.
We've only lost 1 game in PL this season. That was against Man U, at Old Trafford. A lousy 1.0 own goal and they never even had a shot on target!!!
Arsenal never had a single fkin shot in the 1st half. Unbelievable.
If we keep this form up we're gonna find it very hard not to finish top 4.
With Chelsea out of the picture I'm starting to believe we can really do it this season.
COME ON YOU SPURS
Five points against the top four so far with three of the four games having been away. Even though we might not expect Leicester to be there by the end of the season, that's because we anticipate their form falling away, not because their current position isn't deserved. Augurs well...

Tottenham are constantly improving but it is Arsenal who are north London's title challengers
It is very possible that next season Spurs will be in with a shot at being league champions, writes Harry Redknapp

Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten in 11 Premier League games and making real progress under Mauricio Pochettino but it is still Arsenal that are the genuine title contenders.

• Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur: Five things we learnt

Spurs have only lost once, on the opening day, they should have beaten Arsenal on Sunday and in Harry Kane have got one of the best young strikers in the country who is proving he is anything but a one-season wonder.

But out of the two north London clubs I have to say Arsenal have got a far better chance of challenging the likes of Manchester City for the league.

Arsenal are suffering because of the sheer number of injuries and got an absolute thumping in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, when they were completely outclassed.

They are seen as the best footballing side in England, which they obviously are, but that was a harsh lesson for them and they were totally smashed to pieces.

This was a really good time for Spurs to play them but in coming back to secure a point it proved that Arsenal have now got the mental resilience they have been so frequently accused of lacking.

There could easily have been some scars from that beating in Munich yet this point keeps them right on the tails of Manchester City and in with a chance of winning that elusive title.

These games are always topsy-turvy affairs – as Spurs manager, I remember being 4-2 down against Arsenal in October 2008 and drawing 4-4, while two years later we were trailing 2-0 and ended up winning 3-2.

You can never predict the outcome of these derbies because of their intensity but Arsenal will view Sunday’s result as another statement, especially when they are so depleted.

When they get their players back from injury, the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey, they can really start flying.

People are now talking about Spurs, one of my former clubs, as potential contenders but I’d be telling a lie if I said I agreed with them. For me, they are still short of the likes of City, Arsenal and United and, if they were to lose Kane through injury, I think they would have a real problem.

Spurs have got a real chance of finishing in the top four and finally securing that place in the Champions League, the one competition Chairman Daniel Levy is desperate for his club to be playing in.

Thursday night games have a damaging effect on league results and while Spurs are competing in the Europa League I think that is another reason why they will always fall short.

Finishing fourth, in only Pochettino’s second full campaign, would still represent a hugely successful season.

Maybe the chairman will have a real go in the January transfer window and bring another striker in to give them a better chance. I was in that position in 2011, we had a shot at winning the title and needed to bring players in because we had injuries.

We didn’t bring them in and fell away badly, and I’m sure if Spurs are in a similar position this time they would do things differently. They tried and tried for West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino over the summer and, while he may be out of reach in January, I hope they go for a striker who can provide decent cover for Kane.

It is now five goals in the last three games for Kane and I must say from a personal point of view I’m delighted. I was listening to the radio the other day and people were saying that Harry had been sussed out – I’d never heard so much rubbish before in my life and I was so angry I nearly called up the radio show to tell them how strongly I disagreed.

He’s got the lot and he is only going to get better. He can do everything, score a goal, pass it and bring other players in. If every footballer had his attitude a manager’s job would be so much easier. He’s like a Frank Lampard or a Stevie Gerrard, a consummate professional.

I’ve also been hugely impressed with Dele Alli and he is going to be a real star of the future. He has taken to the Premier League like he’s played there all his career and made massive strides since coming in from Milton Keynes Dons.

But Arsenal are still the stronger team and I fully expect them to be challenging for the title in the final weeks of the season.

Spurs could be in a position next season to be in with a chance, but not this time

Harry Redknapp's ghostwriter is terrible at writing.

Yes - agree
We are good on the counter and struggle against the defensive set ups
I was amazed at the speed at which we turned defence into attack last Sunday and haven't seen much of that at WHL

Just imagine when we have a fully fit Son and N'jie on the counter.

Just thinking of those two reminds me of the great squad we actually now have and it's all down to so many players stepping up and performing so well, as well as Poch of course. I thought we were still very light at the end of the transfer window yet players like Alli, Dier, Dembele, Walker, Mason, Lamela etc. have all stepped up massively. So refreshing after waiting so long for players like Soldado and Paulinho to start performing. I think in truth we can now pick out say, the 11 that started against Arsenal and say each player is really playing their part in our team.

It's just great to see them all working so hard.

He had a bout of delusions of grandeur...........

Then Alli went and kicked it out of him.

I think the true measure of the game is just how disappointed we are at getting only a draw at the Emirates.

I don't even think we played that well when we beat them 3-2 a few years earlier.

It wouldn't have been a fluke if we had won 4-1.

They had their chances but not once did they play through us, most of their chances came through the Harry Basset manual of pumping the ball forward and hitting the big men.

They had no answer as a footballing contest and had no option but to go route one.

Fair play to Arsenal for finding an alternative answer but it just goes to show how well we played that Wenger had to go against his principles to get a point.
