I was in the upper Paxton on Sunday at the Blackburn game, in the upper tier block 54...

OMG!! It was sooo boring! No-one chanted, no singing, it was silent!!! Was probably the most boring match I've been to, if you tried to get everyone chanting/singing then everyone would just stare at you as though you are a crazy man shouting in a library!!!

Definately will not be going back there ever again, and I wouldn't even think of getting a ST in that area...

Plus loads of people there were foreigners!!! So they probably had no chance of singing and creating an atmosphere..

I just sat there watching the game, trying to get some chants going but being left on my own... and watching the 'true' fans in the Park Lane and the shelf side singing their hearts out....

The fans sounded tense a lot of the time yesterday (from watching on tv.) But thats understandable when you consider where we are in the League, and how important the game was. As good as i feel about our current form, i cant get carried away. We're still in the mix at the moment and we really need some daylight. If we climb to a safer position in the top half of the League, i think the atmosphere will get better. But at 1-0 yesterday the fans were getting very edgey. We cant really trust the Club to hold onto a 1-0 lead usually. So i think that played a big part in it too. We really need a 2 goal cushion to relieve some of the tension. But there were a lot of groans from the fans when we were passing it backwards and sideways, even though we were 1-0 up. I think it was a very clever performance from Spurs yesterday though and i think Harry knows when we need to calm it down a bit. We cant attack at will in every game. We have to play sensible games at times too.

When I get a ticket, I always aim to sit in the Park Lane end, and have sat there a fair few times over the years. It is very lively, its being next to the away fans that does it. I can also remember we used to chant towards the Paxonites and that egged them on to chant back. Can't remember doing that recently.

Totally agree with you, when I was looking at the available seats with my dad there was places in the upper Park Lane or upper Paxton.. we have been in upper Park lane before so we thought we would try and the upper Paxton.... such a disappointment, I will always go to Park lane now!

and hopefully I can get a ST with all the Park Laners in the new stadium!!!

There were some errie silences towards the end of the game, I think we were expecting Blackburn to somehow get an equaliser. Although we bossed the game there was always a chance of a freekick or longball that gave Blackburn an oppertunity. The crowd were also getting antsy when the players were passing around without showing any urgency despite the fact our lead was a slender one.

I will always go to Park lane now!

Dear Milky

It is a shame that your matchday experience was less than you expected it to be. Them in the Paxton Upper have always been a hoity toity lot, i've even had smoked salmon bagels dropped on me by them.

However, might I suggest a clean out of the lugholes might be in order, as where I was sitting (Paxton Lower), there was singing, clapping, rythmic chanting and even a bloke with a rattle.

No, the Paxton isn't as atmospheric as some of us would like it to be and i'm sure you'll enjoy the Park Lane much much more. after all, that's where the 'true' fans sit............. However, please reconsider. Give the Paxton Lower a go. It's no Park lane but it sounds like it's better than the Upper  Whatever you decide, i'd just like you to know we'll miss you all the same
Love

I remember the first season ticket i had was in the Paxton Lower and i sat there for a few years. When i was there it was the Paxton Lower that most of the nose came from (still not too much though!)

Now when i go i sit Park Lane as i did yesterday and must say that the atmosphere yesterday was probably as poor as i can remember in recent years from the Park Lane end

I sit in the Paxton and over the last few seasons it has got progressively quieter, but as i go to all the away games the atmosphere there makes up for that. Yesterday though was a Sunday game with a 1.30 kick off so the whole stadium was a little subdued, usually the case.

Maybe people need a drink in them to sing then? As there ws not much drinking time before the game yesterday people felt shy about making noise:grin:

so, ive been paying for 2 season tickets for 5 years now, go to a fair few away games as well, went to see us away in europe last year, and because i sit in the paxton, im not a true fan?

Oh and by the way, its the family end, where people with kids and such dont want to stand up all game jumping around.

sorry mate, but your opinion is idiotic.

He has got a point, over the last 10 years they made that the family area.

Anyone saying they sit in the noisy shelf side is a liar!!

The Park Lane end is the only consistent end for singing, because it is the same cheaper season ticket holders that sit there all the time.

I normally sit west upper, but was lucky enough to be in the south east corner and enjoy a bit of noise yesterday.

I wouldn't judge paxton on just that game, as Park Lane end was the quiet as well on Sunday. No one seemed up for it.

Paxton Lower does sing - can't say that i've heard much from upper though.

Paxton upper is quieter than the West Stand - FACT!

Is that possible I sat in the lower West stand for the last european game, and people stared at me for joining in the chants to the point that I was only humming them by the end.

The Park Lane has always been where the noisy boys are and it was territorially the Spurs end that other fans used to try to "take", doesn't mean others aren't true fans though.
It was a funny day yesterday though, even in the Park Lane, I don't think we were tense to be honest it was all a bit low key which is probably why we had the Gomes cheers.

Pfffffft.

Block 31 makes as much noise as our bredren in the park lane. The further north the shelf goes, the quieter it gets, but you yourself mention the south east corner, which is where block 31 is.

I humbly invite you to join us in block 31 where you will be encouraged to sing your heart out. Think you'll enjoy the experience.
