You don't hire someone who flopped in the past because there were mitigating circumstances. Hoddle hasn't magically become a good manager after a ten year absence from top flight management.

It's a totally romantic and illogical suggestion. At least when Liverpool and Newcastle brought back Dalglish and Keegan they were managers who'd actually done well before...

I completely agree. It is illogical and romantic but isn't that what we've all been coveting for the last 18 months? Supporting spurs is often about romance, we always mention the glory teams of the past and that is part of what makes supporting spurs great. We want our spurs back and if anyone can instill that in our team,theoretically at least, Hoddle can. He is by no means the best man for the job and I've never claimed he was but if it was him or some kind of Sherwood/Freund Hybrid, I know what id prefer. At very least he would dare to do

How about zero managerial experience. Also implicated in destabilising the previous two managerial regimes. He is our wormtongue, he has achieved nothing in the game to warrant such a managerial position.

This is where the Levy / sherwood romance started. In 2002 Hoddle blanked Sherwood for months because he dared to have an opinion. Sherwood met with Levy at the times and by all accounts Levy liked him immensely.


There is absolutely zero chance of Hoddle returning. Levy has a long memory. If he had not sacked Hoddle in 2003 we would have been relegated. Great player shit manager.
