I still think he'll turn it around.
I don't think it's time to sack AVB but it is time for him to realise that the plan isn't working. We need to find a way to get Soldado more involved in the game.
well apparently he said he is considerig 4-4-2 with Ade in the side, so he's going to roll the dice a little.
You can't have the level of player turnover like we have in every department of the pitch bar goalkeeper and not expect an indeterminate period of transition - be it bedding the new players into a system or tinkering with the previous years formation to suit.No way. Not ever. Was this season going to be transitional. This is the stuff that is holding us back.
This debacle is mainly down to Levy not adding any decent players to the squad in January 2012 and January 2013 when we were doing well.
Also I suspect that AVB was promised by Levy that Bale would not be sold, his subsequent sale bringing the panic reaction of 7 signings in the last transfer window.
I said this in the match thread,
4-4-2 is not the way to go. I don't understand why AVB won't go 4-3-3 it's what he knows and built his reputation on. We have the squad to play it;
Lloris
Walker
Kaboul
Verts
Rose
Sandro or Capoue
Dembele or Paulinho
Holtby or Eriksen
Lamela
Soldado or Ade
Townsend or Chadli or Lennon
AVB has to quickly decide which 2 players are to play in which position and stuck to it. No square pegs in round holes and rotation based on fitness and form.
Why don't you go and read the actual posts leading up to this, xtrac. I'm contending the assertion that AVB has lost the dressing room. Perhaps a little more time spent reading what was written than simply jumping in with a response?this is a wind up yeah??
Oh wait a minute we were the only side in the EPL to have players on international duty! we were the only side to have 2 weeks off from playing any EPL games! oh yeah the goal in the first 30 seconds, that was a killer we should of just walked off the pitch and given up!! oh wait, we more or less did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because now something has to change. We cant hide from a 6-0 stuffing. There is no ' we deserved to win'/ 'if only krul blah blah''just need to click' excuses that can cover this.
It brings things to a head. And rather than tread water waiting for things to magically fall into place, the whole 'gelling' excuse, we not can demand shit happens.
And I genuinely thought that there has been a shift in AVBs thought patterns this week and he has shown some flexibility in his thinking... it was just probably entirely the wrong game and fucking entirely the wrong start to the game and entirely 6 months later than it should have been.
He is not an idiot, but he is a stubborn self confident fucker. Its hard to be arrogant or insist everything is going to plan when you are being humiliated, shakes up your belief system.
eyes wide open.

Listen this is turning into a H v AVB
at times it wasnt, but did he have the backing too bring in a quality striker, defender, midfielder to bolster the spine of the team?? fact is he wasnt, something i feel the likes of Modders Berba VDV was equally frustrated with.
Exactly what happened to him at Chavski.I've got very little faith left in AVB, but I still think we should just see this season out to the bitter end. New players, a technical director that our coach wanted to work with, and plenty of games left for things to possibly improve (not that I think they will).
However, I think his number is up. The players just don't look like they have any confidence in AVB at all, and once that happens it's just a matter of time before they're shown the door.
I just don't understand some/alot of his decisions.
I mean, I'm not one of these who have jumped on the Lamela bandwagon from day one and want to have his children or anything, but he must be so fucking confused and deflated right now. He has his best game in Europe nearly 3 weeks ago, doesn;t get the start he maybe should have done at home against easier opposition. Yet gets thrown in to todays much much tougher game away from home.
Baffling
