According to Paul Smith on SO, Benny was left behind when the team travelled to Wigan for Saturday's game as he was ill. He felt better so promptly drove himself up there in order to play.

I don't honestly think that there are many players that would do this.

So well done Benoit :clap::clap::clap:

Good news. I know he ballsed up on Sat., but most defenders do this now and again.

The man is a legend. He should be immortalised by having a stand named after him if/when we get a new ground, namely the Disco Benny stand.

Legend. Forget what the press say about him, he's what I think every professional footballer should aspire to be in terms of attitude and personality.

Wonder if he used his run around to get there or one of his classic cars that he collects?

He is our most underated player and so I'll excuse the mistakes for Saturday as he obviously was not 100%!

About time he scored again - worth a bet for Sunday?

I said before the Stoke game that there was absolutely no reason to risk any of the first 11 (particularly Kaboul). Harry promptly gave Kaboul and Benny 120 completely unnecessary and rewardless mins against a side with a great home record who played a full strength team because it's the trophy they have the best realistic chance of winning.

Credit to Benny for making the Wigan game but his concentration dropped because he was knackered so p-leeease Harry let's give him a break this week

PS. One of the Sky twits called him 'a liability at times'. Obviously watches as much of our games as Hansen

Not sure if Benny has a collection of cars. I'm sure I remember an interview suggesting that. Or he used to have a crap load of cars.

As a side note to this, here's the interview in question:

"A change in attitude saw a change in car - in fact, the purchase of a Smart car.

While he has an impressive range of sports cars sitting in the garage, he uses the smaller vehicle to get about town and to training "because it makes sense!""

He didn’t drive up I was at the game and my six year old wanted to watch the players get off the bus and he got off the bus with the rest of the players!!

He did ok on Saturday but is natural blasé attitude to defending does make me nervous and we will get punished if he gets caught against the big boys... There is no doubting his ability going forward....

Sure this explains why his performance was uncharacteristically sub-standard.

Impressed at his attitude but hope it is a wake-up call to Harry who was probably forced to play him due to lack of other options in that position. Not really sure what his plan B was going to be.

Yeah, he pulled along side the team coach on the M1, waving his arms furiously whilst steering with his knees at 70mph.

Did the change over at south mimms services.

His car is probably still there, and he's forgotten all about it.

Could have driven to the team hotel and got the bus from there?

As much of a cult hero he is, I still think he is over rated.

I don't mean that in a horrible way, I fully support him, but honestly don't see what the majority of spurs fans see with him.

Consistant at times, ropey at others.
