Lazy players don't do that.

Ever.

I watched all the games and saw all the goals, that video doesn't change anything.

It's like all YouTube compilations, it only shows you the good bits.

Well this thread is just fkin comedy gold lol.
Bale is world class.
RM are set up to feed Ronaldo and Bale is included in that feeding.
If Ronaldo leaves and Bale is still there then you'll see him at his best.
Ronaldo is a greedy fker and not a team player imo.
Actually looks pissed off when someone else scores ffs.

While we are in fantasy land let's sign Modric back too...

Walker Toby Vert Rose
Dier Modric
Bale Lamela Son
Kane

Wow. Just wow... I'm going to go sit in a dark room now...

I know it's subjective but I'm fascinated when people label Bale as 'World Class', what makes him world class?

In a fantasy world the only player we've sold in the last five years that I'd have back tomorrow is Modric, the rest can stay where they are.

People saying they wouldn't want Bale back need to give their heads a serious wobble. Unbelievable

When you have a player who can win games single handedly on a consistent basis then I have no qualms of putting him in that bracket.

But yeah as you said it's subjective.

Modric was the better footballer that I don't deny, but Bale was A list, a galactico and it was special to have a world superstar at Spurs.

I think he was bought as Ronaldo's replacement, as RM expected ManUre to buy him. When they didn't it left GB as a spare part. If GB stays, at RM, he will come into his own when Ronaldo leaves or retires!

They bought him because they could and also because he was the latest, greatest new toy!! RM are the anti christ of football as far as im concerned!!

I certainly wouldn't disagree with that. RM and Barca have got their money from exclusive TV deals which the other Spanish clubs are excluded from. Consequently they can demand pretty much what they want from TV companies and with the size of their stadia buy whatever players they want from the income. Far from being a level playing field the other Spanish clubs have a mountain to climb if they want to compete.

La Liga isn't that much different to the Prem. I could understand him saying that if he went to Italy but he didn't. .

I don't really watch any La Liga, but I always thought it was far less physical, that defending is nowhere near as good and that other than the top sides, the rest are poor.

It's always why I had suspicions about La Liga players struggling often like Morientes and Soldado? Clearly the likes of Torres, Costa etc buck that trend.

But as I don't watch much La Liga, I guess it's interesting to hear.

It's the relative absence of Bale's trademark rampaging runs at Madrid that strikes me. He still does them for Wales, and did them at Spurs all the time, but they seem largely absent at Madrid.

Which kind of connects with a feeling I always have about La Liga - that it is strangely static. I know that sounds ridiculous given the way Barca ping it about and Real flood forward at times, but whenever I watch La Liga I see an odd lack of dynamism around the pitch. I find it hard to put into words, and am not sure what it is I am seeing...more rigid formations? Less emphasis on running off the ball? Less movement/interchange between the three thirds of the pitch? Less willingness to track back? More man-marking? Generally more defensive mindsets?

I don't know, but the games seems so much less fluid and "chaotic" (in a good way) than the PL, and thus much less entertaining to watch. Maybe Bale's missing runs are somehow connected to this.

It's just my opinion but whereas the Italian league is reasonably slow paced (although quicker nowadays than the 80's and 90's) the Spanish league can be more frantic & physical like ours, though maybe not quite on the same level.

Until this year, you had Utd, Chelsea and City (and Arsenal) who would always win the league between them (except Arsenal) and then the 2nd tier teams like us, Liverpool and Everton etc. They have Barca, Madrid and Atletico then the Villarreals, Valencia etc, and as shown regularly in Europe, their teams are better than us technically and match us physically etc. Basically it's not too different and he's underperforming big time. He should've stayed with us but he's won the CL so he'll say otherwise...

He'll immediately fill Levy's coffers with 100K sales in shirts, but he cannot help to boost our home attendances since we're now almost guaranteed full houses.

those rampaging runs with us was due to the EPL, with Real Madrid they rarely have to hit teams on the counter, as they are usually on the front foot for the majority of games

Gareth Bale was the best player in the league when he left Spurs, have people forgotten how unstoppably good he was in that AvB year, the one man team jokes were not incorrect.

He would be a sensation at Poch Spurs. Dream to get him back, wont happen.
