Seriously get over it. I'm happy for him and I'm happy with £86m. I would have done the same, even as a Spurs fan. Except it wouldn't have been for Madrid. I'd have gone the way of another of my boyhood hero's

yep don't like the way he went about it in the end but I certainly don't blame him for going. I love spurs but if Real or Barca came calling I would be off too! weird that but those 2 clubs are kind of legendary and you just can't pass that up. Money is probably quite nice too:)

The whole thing was difficult to watch. I wish him the best but it was cringe worthy. Perez holding the shirt up and letting bale hold a corner of it, all the family stood there it just didn't look right. He clearly was nervous and doesn't like the spot light as when they made him do keepy ups like a performing monkey he could only manage 8. Badge kissing doesn't sit well with me at the best of times but I think he was ill advised on that. It did feel like seeing your ex with their new partner showing the world how happy they are!

Isco didn't kiss the badge and he's proud not have done.

Bale can't speak speak Spanish so he tried to show his appreciation and happiness in a way universally understood by their fans by kissing the badge.

I'm sure most people here at some point have moved onto better jobs, for money, career progression, fulfilment etc. Now while working for your former employee there may be times you have had to bend the rules a bit e.g. using your work computer to look for jobs, sneaking off to phone a recruiter, taking a sick day off to go to an interview... all of these things go against your company rules and can be seen as disruptive, especially if word gets out you are going to interviews before you've handed in your notice. If you are a star performer or someone who's knowledge would be hard to replace then your bosses may make it difficult for you to leave. Yet you have to look after number one and take these once in a lifetime opportunities as they arise.

I don't see how Bale's situation is any different and I'll add Berbatov and Modric to that. They look at the club as employers, they were star performers who's ambition grew and they wanted to progress for their own reasons. I can't complain about any of them as they are up there with Ginola and Gazza for me as the most exciting players I've seen at Spurs and I'm thankful that we had the pleasure of watching them and for helping us to get where we are today. Good luck to him.

His leaving hurt us, both the club and the supporters, and will continue to do so until we overcome that disappointment with success but it's what Bale always wanted and his kissing the badge as he is now fulfilling his dream of being a Real Madrid player doesn't upset me at all.

Bit fake really - like today's society - all IMO

Bale needs to enjoy because in 1 to 10 years time there will be new players and new heroes with him a footnote.

Spurs will be here and hopefully bigger and better.

It is a shame we will never know if he could have done the same.

Fair point but will we win the league this or next season? The Champions league in the next couple of seasons? I doubt it. Our ambition for this year is to get into the top 4 to win the right to appear in the CL.

Real Madrid are one of the favourites to win the competition. Even as a Spurs fan, I can see the appeal.

He had 20,000 fans and the worlds media watching his every move.

This. Yes it hurt to see it...a bit like watching an ex girlfriend you still have feelings for kissing another guy. But I would think a large part of it was down to the show that had been put on. there were thousands there, every one of whom Perez wants to buy a shirt. I would imagine he was told to make sure he kisses the badge.

You make him sound like a talented puppet. However, there's no doubt that he's as much a marketing tool as he is a footballer to RM.

As he showed his complete lack of class this Summer it came as no surprise. He is no longer a Spurs player so I really could not care less what he does.

without reading 4 pages of this and only seeing the first few bitter posts, its disgusting to read.

Why are Spurs fans so bitter about ANYONE leaving? Bale is a WORLD CLASS player, he is never going to a World Cup, he wants and deserves to win the lot but he isn't realistically going to do that at Spurs.

maybe an FA Cup run or a League cup, maybe a Europa League, but a Champions League? not yet. not for a long while yet. we don't even quality for the cup let alone stand a chance of winning it.

we are not in the big boys league yet, we can't blame Bale for wanting to go. He needed to go to these lengths as Levy would never have sold otherwise.

as seen with Berba & Luka once they go on strike he sells. otherwise he stands firm and makes silly promises. (I'm in no way blaming Levy and applaud him and his attitude and this time he got it right...we replaced before selling)

Not disgusting at all. it is how many of us feel. Our feelings, calling us disgusting or what we've written disgusting is untrue, an exaggeration and unfair. let us vent our frustrations instead of silencing us.

but those are the types of post that make rival fans come onto this forum and take the piss out of Spurs fans.

it's natural in football for good players to move to bigger clubs. once in a while we will get a one man team, but Bale moved on from Southampton to enhance his career and has done it again with his move to RM

We all laugh at Arsenal selling their best players and take the piss out of their fans, lets not let it happen to us.

Oh no he kissed the badge!!!
So what he kissed the badge? He doesn't play for us any more. If I'm getting 300k a week I'll kiss that badge too. If Lamela scores in the next match and kisses the badge no one here is going to complain.

Famous Badge Kissers (http://kissedthebadge.com)

I cannot recall a Spurs player kissing the badge - thank God!
Why? Because these below pretty much represent modern mercenary brand football.

Feel free to post some more, or of any Spurs players kissing the THFC crest

VDV kissed ours, I remember it well because it made me feel all warm and fuzzy

And I think Van Persie is wiping his nose with the badge in that pic :)

Bales kissing of the madrid badge was very ott, but I do think he was probably told to do it, I'm sure he will be told to do a lot of things now.
