They can buy/sell players in the summer, makes a mockery of FIFA. They'll spend massive this summer expecting to be banned for the next two. FFP will become distorted too, allowing them one window of massive spending offset by two windows of no spending.

They don't really need to spend massively, although that doesn't usually stop them.

It doesn't make a mockery of Fifa because it was always going to happen. Barca were going to take it to court and you cant ban someone when its taken to court as they it opens yourself up for a lawsuit

Obviously, but the timeframe allowed until the appeal is heard is and that is what I was saying. It suggests that you can break the law, appeal and then do exactly what you are meant to be banned from doing.

Barca are in a mini-crisis and need to make signings therefore it is a mockery to allow them a situation where they can recover and progress.

The thing is, its fifa's fault for doing this in April had it been done earlier it would of got an earlier court date. As for doing what you're banned from, they were banned for signing underage players. Also this is no different to the real world when an appeal is rejected and then taken to the high court or supreme court if it has enough support. Actually the tactic of losing an case on purpose is done alot in the real world to take it to the supreme court to get a law change or increase your chances of winning. Its one move barca have taken from the real world.

City, Psg, Real Madrid, don't meet financial fair play. Were supposed to be chucked out but aren't.

There is precedent of other clubs doing the same thing. And some of fifas evidence isn't correct. One player they claim Barca broke rules with the father lived in Catalonia since 1999 before the kid was born. Also Fifa has refused to say where the evidence came from(Madrid I bet) not very transparent and CAS wont take kindly to that.

FIFA appeal wont be until Middle of July... Then if not satisfactory CAS wont hear until end of August. By that point 120 million plus the sale of Dani Alves, Tello, Cuenca, Affellay, spent. 2 gk ( Ster Tegen and a Argentinian gk) Hummels and Vertonghen(sorry been told likely) Reus and a number 9

It wont be De Boer... He could be another Rijkaard. Remember how bad the first 6 months under Rijkaard were.. Doesn't need a revolution needs a regeneration that's all.

Ter Stegen
Montoya Hummels Pique Alba

Busquets

Xavi(1 more season Iniesta

Alexis Messi Deulofeu

Id sell Neymar(Bartomeu and Zubi wont) and Dani Alves(he doesn't go forward anymore and never could defend...

Is that the one that allowed them to buy Suarez, Bravo, Vermaelen, Mathieu, & Rakitic? Absolute Bullshit. The ban is for 2 consecutive windows. If the appeal has been overturned, they should not allow any of the above to play until the ban has been served (which would be next season).

It amazing how far Uefa can get their tongues up Barca's & Reals arses

TBF everyone does this. Chelsea got the same treatment. Banned, appealed, got ban lifted for appeal process, bought shit load of players, ban deemed justifiable and reinstated.

I hate to interrupt your rants but FIFA haven't done anything wrong

The ban hasn't been pushed back. What happened was Barcelona wanted to take it to Court and hence FIFA had no choice but postpone the ban till they got a decision in court.

No point banning them now as it will be pointless as they are unlikely to do some business anyway the ban starts from the end of the month

You cant blame UEFA or FIFA for the outcome but you can blame them for getting their case done a little to late, had it happened in february then Barcelona would of been fucked

BBC reports it is back to January 2016.

They should have heard the appeal before the current transfer window opened to prevent Barca doing exactly what they have done, i.e. buying enough spare players to avoid the need to transfer players at all next year. Typical FIFA, bending over backwards for particular clubs!

This could mean Barca trying to get more players in this window, which might be bad news about Verts.

Does the transfer ban run both ways e.g transfers in and out?

I would have thought so.

They've already signed 2 centre backs this window.

I actually doubt it's FIFA's fault over Barca gaming the set rules to ensure they could grab players to tide them over. I expect that there was a time limit on when Barca could appeal by as well as a set amount of time for them to prepare their case. They'll have blatantly taken the former right to the wire so that the latter ran as long as possible.

Looks like it's just ins (Barca unable to register players) going by the FIFA statement:

(from the Beeb article http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28866189)

"FC Barcelona is to serve a transfer ban which will see the club prevented from registering any players at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods," read a Fifa statement.

It's going to CAS now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it not applied to January either.

That's when they can start buying again...

Not sure but I doubt so, I can't how FIFA can ban players from leaving a club.
