I actually doubt it's FIFA's fault over Barca gaming the set rules to ensure they could grab players to tide them over. I expect that there was a time limit on when Barca could appeal by as well as a set amount of time for them to prepare their case. They'll have blatantly taken the former right to the wire so that the latter ran as long as possible.

They're not the only ones. Chelscum bought a shed load of players immediately before FFP started, to the point that last year they had 28 players out on loan! It's like spare money under the mattrass.

But Barca are "mes que un club" and convey such a wholesome image. They must be innocent.

How pissed is @spursandbarca right now?

It's okay mate. Now, maybe, just maybe, we'll see Barca bring through their supposed young stars and Barca start to pay down their debt. Also, look at it this way, when you're able to make transfers again in January 2016, BOATLOADS of money will be spent.

Barcelona transfer ban appeal rejected by Court
Barcelona will not be allowed to sign any players in 2015 after their appeal against a transfer ban was dismissed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Spanish club was handed a 14-month ban in April after being found guilty of breaching Fifa's rules on the transfer of players aged under 18.
Fifa rejected an appeal in August but the pending appeal to Cas allowed Barca to sign players including Luis Suarez.
Now, however, they cannot make further acquisitions until January 2016

It started in August (as they appealed) that would take it to October 2015. The transfer window after that is Jan.
I had assumed it would start at the point that the appeal was rejected, thanks for clearing that up for me.

They had one with Fifa that was rejected in August. This was a court case that just enforces the decision.

So this transfer ban doesn't really seem to be having much impact.

It's a registration ban more than a transfer ban. It kinda defeats the objective, but hey, that's FIFA for you.

I think Turan is nuts!
So he can't play till January and if the new president doesn't fancy him then he can be sent back.
What kind of nonsense is that?

Imagine how good they will be at FIFA after all that time, the others won't stand a chance.
