If you read behind the lines there mate, you'll see that I'm not actually on about who/what we sold at all, am I. Christ.
But if Kane gets injured, we have Chadli, Lamela, Soldado, Colthirst. We use twice as many CMs per game. We need 1 more

Looked good in the end of season tour, which was nice to see as I thought he was bad in last year's pre-season.
Meh, get him sold. Remarkably unremarkable player, regardless of how likeable or not he is off the pitch.
Don't think he's ideal for the 4231 but I think he'll be given a final shot in pre-season.
Think it's more likely Winks stays than Carroll, long held the suspicion that he's held in much higher regard even if he is younger. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Carroll ends up at Villa this summer for somewhere around £5mill.

I agree that a CM is crucial but we really need a striker too. None of those can fill in for Kane if he gets injured, suspended, loses form, fatigues or to keep him on his toes in case someone takes his place
If you are including Coulthirst, then you should be including Onomah, Winks, Miller and Ward, who are arguably all more highly rated as CM's than Coulthirst is as a striker.
That's nitpicking. My point is, we've got squad players enough for both position, but at FW we also have 1 killer player (and we use 1 FW each match). At CM, which we use 2 of each match, we only have 1 really good player in the entire squad. That's why I rather want to prioritise 1 CM for the starting line up. If we can't get a CM for the starting line up, that's a different story and my views would change.
