There's some players who blatantly should have reported back for pre-season by now but for whatever reason haven't.

Lennon, Stambouli, Kaboul - not internationals are they?

Will be interesting if Ade comes back when others do

The way I see it, purely objectively:

Gone: Paulinho, Capoue, Holtby

Likely to go: Lennon, Stambouli, Kaboul, Chiriches, Soldado, Fazio, Carroll

Unlikely, but we want out: Ade

Open to selling with strong offer: Dembele, Townsend, Walker

So as you can see, it's not beyond strong possibility that roughly ten could be right. We're even off to a good start, as honestly I figured we'd struggle to move Paulinho for a fee agreeable to Levy.

Might also include Fredericks

Need to be ruthless as a club for once. Poch can't be keeping players on if he doesn't rate them, even if they are decent guys. Hope Stambouli does well at Watford.

Stambouli was there last week at some point. The others as far as I'm aware haven't been sighted though.

I'd argue that if the right offer comes in, Lamela would also be in that list.

I'd have said that as well as of April, but his performances and continued selection would seem to indicate Poch may actually have decided to continue with him.

I think it has to be accounted for that Lamela's type is rather rare. Not only are there few left-footed inverted wingers out there, but there are considerably less who offer both a) his willingness to work in the full press and b) his creativity. Plain and simple, he'd be rather difficult to directly replace. Were he right footed and played on the left, I wouldn't be surprised if Poch were more willing to consider other options given the value/return ratio as of this point. However, it is what it is, and much of Lamela's value lies in the rarity of his breed, ergo part of why he's worth sticking with a bit longer.

There is a glimpse of Stambouli in today's training pictures on he OS but the others on that list are conspicuous by their absence

Stambouli is there: he was in one of today's training photos and posted this photo yesterday.

ETA: Soldado's budgie smugglers in the linked photo are...quite something.

I'm actually a little disappointed to see him go. I always believe a player should be given at least one season. I can't imagine he was ever brought in to be anything more than a squad player, and his wages aren't likely to be the highest, so I don't think we're shifting him for financial reasons.

Sad that he doesn't want to go, players like that can often try to step up and force their way back in. All I can imagine is that he must've either had some sort of attitude problem, perhaps laziness about him in training (albeit we may have heard something about it, like with Capoue), or maybe he just clearly looked out of his depth in training and where even the youngsters were doing better than him.

I thought he was decent whenever he played, nothing special but nowhere near as bad as some players we've put out there who have had more regular chances. With Paulino and Capoue gone I thought he'd be kept as a backup option for the Europa League games. He may be unwilling to go but is asking for more regular football too.

I wonder if we'll see Fazio go too, if Poch isn't adverse to getting rid of his own purchases just 12 months down the line. Then again Fazio played more games and had a decent spell with Vertonghen at one point.

Doubt it, the lad has loads of talent and Poch likes him

I agree that April onwards he started to show a bit more (albeit nothing particularly special) but that's hardly likely enough to deter us if a decent bit comes in.

There's talent there, but we've seen nowhere near enough to suggest that he wouldn't be available if a bid anywhere around the 20m mark came in.

Came to the conclusion he would probably stay this TW, simply because we need to sell maybe 9 or 10 others first - and if we sold him we'd also need to purchase another player to replace him. All of which is just too much more to do.

But unless he markedly improves this coming season I think he'll be sold as he doesn't offer enough to justify a first team place, and it seems like we have 2 players who play on the right but both are bench options which is crazy when one cost £25m or £30m or whatever it was.

From your list, i think Fazio would be retained (i think Carroll will be given a last chance). Townsend, Fredericks or Walker out. Of coz if Ade goes, it would be the BEST!!!

Poch sees him in training every single day. If we let him go it simply means that he has not developed as expected and we no longer think he has what it takes to become a starting CM. It's too bad for him but we have way too many players waiting in line at CM to keep a squad player who Poch doesn't trust. If he isn't seriously outplaying Carroll, Alli, Veljkovic and the like in training then it's time for him to go; and if he is then I don't believe we would let him leave in the first place.

I don't think we'd accept a 20m'er tbh, although I agree with your logic. I do think that rarity has to be accounted for, but I'm with you that if we received an offer of closer to 25, I'd be surprised to see us not tempted.

If it's true we're set to sign Alderweireld, I see no way we keep Fats. Maybe we think we'll need five CB's, which is fair enough, but I can't see Fazio being content with his playing time in such a format.

I wish Carroll would be given a chance, but I suspect we'll sell, especially if we keep Dembele around. My hope is that Dembele will express discontent with Poch's plans for him and ask to leave, thereby prompting us to persist with Carroll.

I don't think we're actively trying to sell Townsend, but I also don't think we'd turn down a strong offer he'll find agreeable. Not sure anyone would pay the fee though, especially since there seems to possibly be a bit of bad blood brewing between us and Saints.
