ascetic compared to Defoe

I love what Berba said about Danielle Lloyd on Bulgarian TV!

(The interviewer described her as "deadly" showing various pics in a state of undress, and Berba enquired rather surprised: "Have you seen her?")

BTW cheers Berbati! You taught me a new word, I had to look it up on Dictionary.com!
I assumed you'd misspelled aesthetic!

Lily_lane, i see that you know almost everything around Berbatov which is so nice to see :) The translation of his speech is accurate, only 2 phrases are missed, 2 phrases the audience laughed at. The first was when he said that he would like to give a pice of advise to young players as a person whose glory is waning(i don't know if it is the right translation) and he looked at Martin Petrov. It was because a journalist asked them if this is their last chance to qualify for a World Cup because they are old now :p
the second was when he thanked the masseurs for everything along with his family and friends ("the most important people, please, I am serious")

LOL! He always speaks with a sense of irony and humour.

Thank you for the additional report Gaby, and I sincerely hope that Bulgaria will qualify for the World Cup along with England next time!

He attended the post match reception organized by THFC then went home to bed (so he said in an interview). I believe there were 2 more "booze-ups" after that he did not attend.

I suspect he probably was at home resting and being interviewed by Chris Davies for the Wembley chapter in his forthcoming biography.

(Bad title BTW - we already have a Deadly - should've just called it Berbatov, far more classy).

Berbati, if he does leave, it'll still have him in a Spurs shirt on the cover!

I hope, it's a good reading

Have you read it, Lily? Does the author write about Berbatov's favourite forum

Match Report - Managed to Find a Stream to Watch Live

Bulgaria 2 - Finland 1

A Draw might've been a fairer result, as the Finns dominated the 1st Half scoring a Pen, and the Bulgarians left the pitch at HT to the sound of boos from the sparse crowd.
I didn't realise the Finns had so many well known players, the names were very familiar, more so than the opposition, other than the trio of famous Bulgarians.

Martin Petrov had a shocker, as did Stylian Petrov, surprising, as Martin was MOTM in their last friendly v N.Ireland in Belfast a couple of moths ago.
Berba had a quietish game, a few nice touches and a couple of headers on goal, but not much service, the winner came after he had been subbed late on with 5 mins to go. Teemu Tainio played well and was brought off mid way through the 2nd Half, both are safe and well, though Berba got a knock in the face.

The Finns English Manager didn't seem to have much clue re the substitutions, Forsell was also subbed, and thereafter Finland had no threat up front. Did not even realise Forsell was a Finn till today!

Bulgarians dominated the 2nd Half, Ref did not book anybody, no tantrums from anyone, okay, it's a Friendly, but compared to the PL, it was sedate as far as any confrontation was concerned. Don't know where he was from, but the Ref flamboyantly crossed himself Catholic stylee before blowing the whistle to start. Hmm, don't think FIFA will be sending him to Ref in the Arab world somehow.

Bulgaria wore Red shirts/Green shorts.....not nice seeing Berba in red. :p

I hope so too Berbati, with lots of good new pics.

No, but you can pre-order it on Amazon before the publishing date.

The author I'm assuming is the Chris Davies of the Telegraph. I'm not sure where you are Berbati, but you can hear him regularly on the Hawksbee & Jacobs show on TalkSPORT radio, often on a Monday discussing the past weekend's matches. He's very much a stickler for proper behaviour and on the side of the Refs generally as a reporter.

I also hope it'll be a serious, enlightening book, and not just the usual tabloid style puff piece.

I guess the late night at the disco didn't bother Berba too much, as he managed to get up for training yesterday.

It was such a boring game :| At least they showed that they have luck and scored in the last minute. However, Bulgaria should work hard unless they want to break a negative record against Italy. And the referee was Romanian. Blah :D:D

Ah, I see! That's an odd choice by FIFA, it would be like us playing Denmark and having a Scottish Ref!

It livened up in the 2nd half, I thought. :)

Just to mention that in the Balkans most of the neighbours don't like each other and, especially after the EURO qualifications, Bulgaria and Romania had a conflict. However, it was only a friendly, unimportnant game. The boys were more happy to see each other than to show something

I notice it's quite different come the Eurovision Song Contest! lol!

Yes, it's nice they could get together, catch up, and have the Award Ceremony the other evening.

But definitely, like England, they need to improve to qualify for the next World Cup. Bulgaria has a tough group too.

This is because 1) nobody exept us likw Balkan kind of music 2)most of us like only Balkan music  3)the population is quite mixed
But when it comes to sport things get severe

I've just watched an interview after the game, obviously, Berbatov didn't take it to heart because he was laughing most o fthe time, said that it was not important game and if he were a fan wouldn't go to the stadium for a game like this, but is optimistic for the future

I heard that too don, on the H&J show on talksport. Don't know if they were referring to a recent picture or article, but I haven't been able to find anything. Only this old pic from a magazine shoot quite a while ago. The Bulgarian equivalent of Hello, it was a photoshoot of Berba in a casino, and included this pic:

He does look cool, but I hope he doesn't smoke too often.

I like Balkan music too! I LOVED the Bulgarian couple in the Eurovision last year, that percussive song called "Water" with her wailing, it was fab! I preferred it to the winner from Serbia. Looking forward to this year's Contest.
I can't work out why Berba loves Rap though.

Thanks Gaby. He makes me laugh lol! I hope he doesn't get into trouble with the Bulgarian FA, as if the England Captain said that he wouldn't bother going to Wembley for a Friendly match, our FA would not be pleased! lol!

:bs:. He's not the Bulgarian David Beckham at all, he's Berbatov. Beckham is a clown.

I think that's a bit harsh on Becks. He's just given a wonderful, moving interview to Sky on reaching his 100th Cap in France this evening. I must say since going to LA he has lost some of his London accent, sounds a bit more posh, and speaks much more eloquently. He has matured as a man, and is a great ambassador for England, and London.
