I actually like Beckham and started watching football partially because of him when i was a child, supporting England like maybe 80% of the Bulgarians, i also respect his contribution to the birth rate of your country :p

What can he do? His wife wants a girl lol!

BTW Gaby, I noticed the weather seemed quite mild and sunny in Sofia compared to the snow and freezing gales we've had here. I was wondering if during his TV interview Dimi took his shirt off to exchange with Teemu, and if so, did you get a look at his new tattoo?

I'm not a fan of tattoos, and was Eek he'd had another one, but the Chinese proverb one on his arm is tasteful, and I've grown to like it, I hope this new one is too. But the position it's in on his body, we might not get to see it....too often.

I think the weather only looked mild, the climate in Sofia is awful and i saw that Berbatov had some other T-shirt under the outer the kit so no tattoo was seen. We should wait for the summer :p
BTW, Berbatov likes also folk music, so called "Macedonian", it is from his region

ramos n comoli have probably drummed into berbatovs head that the next step for spurs is the champions league.

Or gone out an paid over the odds for an English striker whose been on the bench for most of this season as cover for when we didnt make the CL so they can cash in on the "asset" that is Berbatov.

Face up to it hell be gone come end of July. The premiership and english football clubs are run like any other business.

Thats why Man Utd has a crap South Korean and completely useless Chinese in their squad. These 2 alone are bringing in milions to the Utd cause.

Spurs is also run in this vein, and lets face it after Solgate we will always cash in on valuable assets before they get stolen from under our nose.

Berbatov has been a joke for Bulgaria for the past year or more...He did nothing again yesterday. I hope Plamen Markov doesn't select him again so we can finally start with 11 men on the pitch

He scored 8 goals for that rubbish team last year. Maybe he should have scored 15 to not make the likes of you moaning and 25 to please you.

Are you a supporter of that micky mouse bulgarian team called Levski which fans cannot stand Berbatov?

I'm a CSKA fan but I just can't stand Berbatov and his attitude in the NT. He doesn't give a shit in any of the matches. Ask any Bulgarian about his performances for the national team and he will tell you the same thing, no matter what team they support. Imo some CSKA fans just say he's good cus he's been a CSKA player...that just ain't right. A player like Makriev would play 10 times better than Berbatov atm.

OK mate, I respect your right to express your opinion but what you say sounds to me very immature, to put it mildly.

Without Berbatov (and M. Petrov) Bulgaria would be a dwarf in today's football.

In the NT Berbatov was never played in the right position. And he was never used for the best of his abilities. I used to dislike him a lot until I realized he was actually wasted away.

I think that's a bit harsh on Becks. He's just given a wonderful, moving interview to Sky on reaching his 100th Cap in France this evening. I must say since going to LA he has lost some of his London accent, sounds a bit more posh, and speaks much more eloquently. He has matured as a man, and is a great ambassador for England, and London.

Sorry hun, but he's been a clown since the game against Argentina at WC'98 and for some reason the english bought it. I knew it right then that it's this guy was going to be in the team until he retires and during that time England were going to play shit and it was going to be all SvenGoranErickson-Bekcham drama and tears, with too many expectation and nothing to deliver at the end. I knew that the sooner they kicked him out of NT the better, but they just kept bringing him back. 10 years of Nothingness.

Comedy gold! Bulgarian fans moaning about Berba's body language! Reminds me of half of SC up until about November.

Although in fairness, Berba is now becoming one of our team's leaders. Rather than celebrating his goals, he's the one beckoning the team back to the halfway line and trying to get the crowd going.

I dunno, in a period of consistent underachivement from the Gerrards & Lampards I always felt Beckham was more of a shining light, he set up most goals and pitched in with a few too.

I liked Beckham a lot, but he's finished for England now.

:eek:mg: You're a right rough bunch! I've seen your website. Frightening!

Apparently he missed some crucial chances for you at the age of 19, and you've never forgiven him.

I don't like Beckham since as good as he may be, he is more of a media star. But I'd acknowledge that he's a great professional.

Yeah, McClaren left him out of the team and we didn't even qualify for Euros 2008. In that final match against Croatia when Becks came on he put in a couple of telling crosses, and was the only player on the pitch that looked like he had a clue. No, he's not the most gifted player but he's a consummate professional, and amidst adversity, he's always retained a great desire and love for playing for England, unlike many others who have cried off cos they couldn't be bothered anymore.

Please don't make this another one of those annoying CSKA vs Levski threads. It's not even about Berbs, it's f**kin' spurs, so unless you have something worth saying, don't make the effort to come here.Translations and comments, nothing more.I'm really sick of all those guys that say "Berbatov doesn't perform for the national team".Well it's pretty simple, our coach is using 5-4-1 formation when clearly we don't have good enough midfield for this.So Berbs does not have a striker partner and yet you expect him to score 2 goals every game.Sorry for the off topic.

Well, it is on topic, seeing as we've been discussing the international match on Wednesday, and I'm interested to hear people's views.

Having watched the full 90 mins on a stream, he did try, you can't say he didn't put any effort in or didn't run about, he did, but every time the cross or final ball to him was lacking, so he really didn't get the service.
(At times I felt it must be like deja vu for him with Spurs).

IMO the 2 Petrovs had worse games than Berba. The crowd numbers were very few, the stadium seemed half empty, and generally it seemed a very low key Friendly match.

Arsene Wenger is advocating these be done away with.

I also think the Bulgarian fans may have underestimated Finland. I saw a fan prediction of 3 - 0 saying that the Bulgarian team always "lets down the supporters". Finland played well, especially in the first half, and have alot of good players.

Just my opinion, as an outsider.

I was just taking a look at some of his videos in Youtube, both in game action as well as interviews and profiles and that; the guy is pure class, what an amazing player, he can do it all basically, scoring, dribbling, tackling, heading, passing, all with such an amazing composure.

As a person he seems a nice bloke, and he is so intelligent, measured with his opinions, he even says he studies other players' abilities and weaknesses, like for West Hams's 3-3 free kick he said he tried to imitate Ronaldinho's free kick against Germany.

I only believe Drogba, Shevchenko, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Santa Cruz and Torres can be considered in his same class. Maybe Obafemi Martins and Yakubu, in the future and if they take their teams places with their goals. The rest, including the gunners of course, don't have anyone with this kind of offensive presence.

What's weird is that when I first read that you mentioned Yakubu being the next in line to reach 'world class' status, I immediately thought "No, way. He's way too old."

And then I realized the guy is 25. He's still pretty young. You're right he could be next in line.
