Not going to happen though mate the policy is to recruit cheap buys then polish them up and sell them.
Thats what poch and his mate have been brought in for to accept these working conditions probably why LVG didnt want to know then Utd came knocking.
We need to make one step at a time with buying now though even if it is not a huge sum of transfer money. Big changes won't help us, it's a slow rebuilding process with hopefully Poch at the helm?

Well you can see why these guys have been dropped from starting 11.
Cant control a ball, pass it, no pace, no vision. Bloody awful.
Paulinho, Dembele, Soldado (I'm done), Kabul (Jesus Christ is he wearing his boots backwards or what?) all gotta go.
How many piss poor corners and crosses can Paulinho take before someone grows some balls and says fk off I'm taking this one? It would never be accepted at bloody pub league level nevermind top flight. Unbelievable.
Good Walker and Townsend got some more time. Both looked rusty with some poor passes.
Rose, Vlad (bit worrying at times but ok), were ok but just once Id like to see our defenders marking players in the box when a cross comes in, not bloody ball watching. How f king hard is that to get across??? Not that you should have to be getting that across to supposed professional footballers.
Was a make shift team in a unimportant game so not that surprised or upset but its obvious those mentioned need to go as they are not good enough.
I do wonder though is it them not being good enough, not playing as instructed or Poch not having a scooby doo?

VdV is out of contract in the summer. Serious question...should we try and get him back? Give the place a lift. Mentor the youngsters coming through.

No. I have watched every single Hamburg game this season, and trust me, as delightful as it would be to have him back in a Spurs shirt we do not want him taking up a place on the pitch.

Dont think we have much choice now we are stuck with all of the above just have to see how we come out the other side.

He's probably going to be another dud in all likelihood. Not writing him off totally yet but just look at the players and managers we buy/hire. We have no idea how to recruit at all.

Been saying that for a few years myself.

We should not buy anyone in Jan unless that 1 world class player is there? More importantly we concentrate on moving on as many average, not interested and poor attitude players as possible. We should buy only players from now on that improve the starting 11. I am feed up with buying 80 odd million pounds of 7 squad players when 2 starting 11 world class players would have seen the team improve greatly. Tonight and this season has just not been good enough.
We desperately and I mean DESPERATELY need for Ade to come back fit. If he can start up front with Harry I am certain the goals will come.
Going to Turkey with just 1 striker put the pressure on Soldado and he cracked. That is not my opinion-that is MoPo's.
You can bet your life that the price of any striker we are after went up by about £5 mill tonight.

When Chadli knocked the ball down for Soldado and he just hit it without thinking I had memories of VDV finding the bottom corner with chances like that.

Lets be serious though. If we played our first team tonight we would have scored a couple of goals.

Things aren't as bad as some of you are making it out to be.

If schneiderlin is the one man Poch wants then go get him in Jan and move on 2 or 3 to pay for him as we would not miss them that's for sure. I am worried though as Poch wanted Musacchio he got Fazio instead. He wanted Schneiderlim he got Stamboulie instead. I see a plan happening and it's called the Levy plan and it don't work.

Just as a pure footballer he's one of the best I've seen and I've said that for years. Definitely frustrating though. He needs someone to get in his head.

Should we use him as a winger? Or at least try him there? He doesn't have the passing ability and he doesn't take any chances driving into the penalty area from the middle. His dribbling is probably his finest asset yet for whatever reason we don't see enough of it. I'd like to maybe see him been given the chance to do that without having too worry about his defensive duties as much.

That's true, he was and I miss him, passionate and extremely talented. Starting to wonder if AVB was told he had to make room for Moutinho if he wanted him and VDV was the guy to let go. Goes to show what a complete mess Levy has made of our recruitment these past few windows.

Sorry, but that's nonsense. Moutinho would have taken Modders' place, and I don't recall any problems playing him and VdV in the same team. There was also much to suggest that Villas-Boas forced VdV out; he favoured Sigurdsson, and VdV would no longer be an automatic first choice.

It strikes me that the real mess was made by Villas-Boas and Baldini.

That was a shambles, no direction, no clue, no idea, defence was awful, midfield played it around a bit, when it finally got further foorward we continued to play it around a little and added some over elaboration and on the odd occasion the ball actually got into the box for half a chance players had either gone to sleep waiting or missed the chance
Just an awful game and it wasn't as if we were giving a load of inexperienced kids a run out

I've had a ponder and I have a conclusion/observation...
Levy may well be right! (Even I gulped at that thought)
But how can one club with so many proven (before Spurs ruined them) internationals have such a mediocre team?!
Players that have reached international level are, by definition, the best of their peers.
We must have 18 in our squad and yet they all become shit under the Spurs cockerel....Verts, Capoue, Soldado, Chicriches, Paulhino (once hailed the next best thing t come from Brazil - with a subsequent Brazillian press article venting "what have you done to him?!"), Stambouli, Dembele, Chadli, Lamela, Rose (a bad joke, but true, player of the season at Sunderland and with England caps)...all of them - simply mediocre now. Erikson - the stand out, but still played out of position etc etc...
Where can the blame lay?
It's not rocket science, and I'll cry it til my dying day - play your best players in their best positions and build a team that way - if you're missing a piece of that jigsaw....buy that piece - don't buy 6 number 10s.
Neither MoPo or AVB and their "continental one off seasons" can veer from their blinkered Inflexible systems - and frankly it is shit, shit to watch, shit to behold and shit that we are still having to witness it week in week out.
international players don't become shit over night - unless they move to Spurs - and that is A pretty fucking damning reflection and a sad reality of where we currently reside.
Mason, Lloris and Kane being the stand outs for the season?!
I wish I had the answer - but I'm pretty sure MoPo doesn't either.
