Why would we sell Eriksen, the man has looked really good for us?! Did you see how he ripped Man City to bits in the CL for Ajax?

Is now the time to be negative, or would it be more productive to give the new/interim management team a break?

Remember, they are Spurs fans too, and probably more than a little nervous at the task they have ahead, they're only human.

Best thing about this is that it can morph into 4-2-3-1, 4-3-2-1 & 4-1-4-1 very easily.

Hell, if we had more than a few centre backs I'd love to see us try a 3-5-2. It'd be interesting, if nothing else.

I jut think we need a stable midfield, which for me is a 442. I would actually pick the same team as you, but with Lamela/Eriksen taking turns to swap between support striker and RW

I would have really liked to see in some of our earlier games against weak cup opponents where Holtby and Erikson could play as a pair in front of one of our central defensive midfield beasts. If they could we'd be fucking class to watch, right up there with the Scum. Put Townsend on left and Lamela on the right in the front of that midfield and we'd utterly annihilate sides. If it looked a bit lightweight it would also been interesting to experiment with Erikson on the left in a role similar to the one Modric played for us in his early days, that way we could play stronger central midfielders but keep Erikson, Holtby and Lamela in the starting line-up.

AVB fucking chucked that opportunity sadly

I don't see why. Chelsea pay it, as do City.

We need to get the right mix though the positions of the 3 behind the striker are very important.

I don't think we have the same quality of players to be play that system the same way.

Agree, let's get a proper 433 going with one defensive mid and 2 players that can pass like Eriksen and Holtby. Width provided by anyone but my preference would be Lamela and Townsend to start with.

Perhaps you're right.

City and Chelsea in particular have great fullbacks who can put in brilliant deliveries, ours don't do that so it upsets the whole system in that wingers are needed then, but if you play wingers you're crossing for a loan striker.

I've tried to picture Eriksen in Silva's position as he's pretty much ambidextrous meaning he can come in or go out and consider Lamela behind the striker to get him in behind more.
