All he needs now is his team mates to pass to him. Life's great playing for Ronaldo.
A different kettle of fish that one.

I dare say, Ronaldo's stature and behaviour has had a detrimental effect on James, Kroos as well as Bale - certainly from a team dynamic.

Just imagining have Bale back for next season sounds awesome.

Even with the changes we have made to our team since I still think he would fit in. Kane has been great this season and Eriksen has shown he has a lot of talent but neither has Bale's pace and having someone like Bale would ease any pressure or reliance on others in attack (when we had Bale under AVB he was our main attacking treat but we have more options now). Also I don't think we have any players that need to be the out and out number 1 focal point of the team like Real have.

Plus it would be great to see his long charging run from one end of the pitch to another and scoring for us...

If Bale was our only attacking player we signed all summer I'd be well happy. Seeing Bale, Eriksen and another player (like Chadli, Townsend or Lamela) behind Kane on paper seems really great to me.

Sadly as we don't have Champions League football we might not have the cash to afford Bale and he might only want to play for a team with Champions League football.

If we can't have him back I hope he stays at Real Madrid as he is way too big a treat playing against us in the Premier League and I'd feel sad for him if he has to leave Spain (and not sign back for us) on a sour note.

Anyway it's still great to dream of having Bale back playing for Spurs again (in his prime).

No question. Having a player who expresses exaggerated discontent when every single pass isn't directly to his right boot is wicked detrimental to team dynamic. Can't stand watching Ronaldo play.

Who cares? Welsh tosser wanted out.

That's some serious disrespect for one of our greatest of all time, and a player that gave us so much.

Nope, great player no doubt.
What did he win for us?
But we gave him the spring board to kick on and become that player.
He wanted out, not the other way round.
Same with Modric and Berbatov, they wanted out and engineered a move away while under contract.
I don't have an affinity to those players no matter how good they were.
Carrick on the other hand, I have all the time in the world for.

I think when you consider players "who wanted out," you absolutely must take into consideration the fact that he went to Real Madrid. He didn't go to a bigger league rival, he went to the biggest, richest, most prestigious club on the planet. That's being offered the opportunity of a lifetime, and is very different from "wanting out."

What did he win for us? He won bags of points for us, and gave us an incredible CL run. He can't be faulted because the rest of the squads he played with couldn't match his ability, as he certainly did his part. What has Lamela won for us? Two more points against Burnley?

They'd be stupid to splurge on another right winger in truth. Robben isn't past it (was having a superb season before his injury), and Muller can certainly do a job on the right wing. What they need is a left winger, badly, as Ribery is certainly past it and they have no legitimate alternate to him (Thiago isn't good enough). I think they'll move for one of Griezmann or Werner now that Depay is out of the question.

I'm just surprised to see this kind of disrespect for a player after all he gave us, and I don't think the reasoning lines up if you ask "what did Bale win us?", but have such favoritism for a player who has done very little.

That player hasn't been here for a fraction of the time Bale was here.
I loved Bale and the way he played.
But like I said I have no affinity to players who engineer moves away when the club develop them.
That's how I see it.
He could have stayed for 2 more years to help the club progress.
But he wanted his dream and got it.
I don't give a shit that his dream is fast becoming a nightmare.

That's all fair (except for staying for two more years, there's no guarantee Madrid would have come back), but "having no affinity" isn't the same as saying "who cares?" with regard to him and referring to him as a "Welsh tosser."

Okay a tad harsh.
But RM would have come back.
That's there PR machine putting pressure on.
They waited for Ronaldo and if Bale had kept up his form there fans would have demanded him.
Players came here on the pretence that they would have been playing with Bale.
I've accepted he's gone and begrudgingly wished him luck.
He was advised very badly at the time, yes he's won the CL but now finding politics play a huge part of Real.
He could have stayed and become a true legend here and moved on at the right time.
Now he finds himself falling out of favour and form.
Now he may have to find a new club and maybe a new league to settle in to.
Even worse he could be at Chelsea or Utd next season.

Yeah, I agree, him being at Chelsea or Utd next season would be tough to take. I'd find it very difficult to defend him under such circumstances (although he is being treated very, very poorly and unfairly by the Madrid fans, so I don't blame him if he's tempted by a move to Man U).

It's certainly possible they'd have come back, but he had no guarantee, and it's the opportunity of a lifetime. I'm a Spurs fan, but tbh as an adamant lover of the game itself, it would be very tough to turn down an offer from Real Madrid. That is an offer to write your name in the echelons of the all time greats, and with a footballer's mentality of always striving to be better, it directly contradicts that to turn such a prospect down. So I just don't think he can be faulted for that.

I think people who believe he should have stayed for longer don't understand football. If I was a footballer and played for Spurs, I'd accept an offer from Madrid even if I was a die-hard fan.
