Great signing if true, but isn't he FA cup and Carling cup tied. So if he sign him say tomorrow he won't be able to play against United on Saturday, can somebody confirm this.

Get him signed up NOW.
He will be our new Number 1.
He's not coming just to warm up our bench.
He is still a top quality keeper who is proven in the Premiership.

He'll come and challenge for number 1, but Gomes has been excellent, so he'll have a job on his hands.

Gomes is a much better keeper these days. But he'll (Cudicini) make a good no 2.

No he won't, imagine what it do to his confidence becoming a number two?
IMO we should be signing a back-up to Gomes and not replacing him.

Isn't that what we're doing with Cudicini? Only one person has failed to grasp this so far.

Exactly, and a lot at PSV said he was one of the best in the world. You can see how much quality Gomes has, he is simply the best keeper we have had since Clemence/Jennings.

I'm quite amazed when thinking about how Cudicini just seems be happy to make some money. He has gladly thrown away his career and been happy sitting on the bench.

Weird since he was really good some years ago.

Cudicini is shocking.

I can't believe people are excited about this. He's been shit every time he's played for Chelsea over the past 3 years

At least we'll be able to allow Gomes plenty of time to recover. He needs to be 100% for the remainder of the season now. So no need to play him through injury anymore if we get a quality keeper like Cudicini.

Totally agreed DC - I would say most Spurs fans are seeing that now.

I wonder how long it will take the pundits, who haven't seemed to have clocked this yet - there's still an air of "will he commit a howler?" about em

I take it you missed the 4-4 draw at the Lane last year?

He has struggled at times though as he hasn't played a great deal of 1st team football. But he's more than capable as a number 2 for us.

I got to agree with you. I think people are remembering him fondly on his form in the Ranieri era. When he has come in the last couple of years he has been shocking. People go on about his save against Berbatov in the 4-4, but he was rubbish in that match, came for less crosses than Robinson and we battered them at set-pieces.

Admittedly it is dificult to come in the side after being a reserve for so long and find form, but if you are going to become a professional back-up player as has been his want, you really have to do a job.

Setanta Sports News understands that Chelsea keeper Carlo Cudicini is in talks with Tottenham over a move to White Hart Lane.
Heurelho Gomes’ understudy Cesar Sanchez left North London for Valencia on Tuesday evening, leaving youngster Ben Alnwick as second in line for the keeper’s jersey.
A model of astuteness in the transfer market, Harry Redknapp is unlikely to have granted Sanchez’s departure had cover not been lined up.
Cudicini would indeed look to have all the hallmarks of a Redknapp transfer having become almost the forgotten man at Stamford Bridge since Petr Cech’s arrival.
The Italian has been restricted to first team appearances only when his Czech superior has been injured or during The Blues’ regular carling Cup runs.
Setanta Sports News learned that Cudicini was at Spurs’ training ground on Wednesday morning.
Redknapp has so far added Jermain Defoe and Wilson Palacios to his squad during the January transfer window.

Cudicini is a fantastic goalkeeper, especially as he's been forced to #2 by arguably the best goalkeeper in the world.

For £1m, that would be a superb aquisition, IMO.

For a backup goalie he is a decent shout. Cheap as chips, got the experience, used to sitting on the bench.
