3 excellent saves from Schmeichel
I think he's still a little rusty (not been back long from that horrific injur)y When hes 100% up to speed I rate him better than the Lukaku/Bony level of strikers

He was very unlucky not to score to be fair, but yeah he was a handful. Held the ball up and linked well. Couple of great headers that were saved impressively.

Benteke should have scored today he had at least three big chances at did not score. Ade and Soldado would be slaughted on here if they had missed such chances for Spurs.

Probably so but he has just come back from a terrible injury and he got all his efforts on target which is the 1st criteria for a striker
Bobby get virtually nothing on target and Ade nowadays virtually never has an effort on goal.....

But Benteke plays regulary for his team and ours don't for one reason or another, which makes a huge difference.

How can you not rate a striker who's averaging a goal every other game in the league?

He rates Townsend, who is apparently the future of our club, but doesn't rate Bony. I think he needs to revaluate his criteria for his rating of players.

I don't know how you come to this conclusion Mustard considering Bony and Benteke are basically the same type of striker.

Let's be realistic. We will not sign Bony or Benteke this coming window. We will not pay what those teams will want in January. We probably wouldn't pay what they'd want in June, either.
Our only hope of signing a striker is if we find someone with a release clause that is well under 10 million pounds, and said player has a fairly low wage and wants a move. I can't think of a single striker that fits that bill. The only other option in the short term could be to hunt for a soon out of contract, older player currently outside of England. Again, there aren't many that fit that bill.
I think we'll see a new striker next summer, but only after Vertonghen and Lloris are sold. That'll bring in at least 50 million pounds, coupled with some incoming transfer on others (Dembele, Chririches, Soldado, Paulinho, Naughton, Lennon), that should be enough to convince Levy to spend a bit on a striker.

He's a year younger so not much in that
I think Benteke is stronger, quicker and better in the air. I also think he's a better footballer
Bony's scoring record is impressive though, as is Benteke’s

I would say Bony's technique and footwork is an underrated facet of his game.
