That's because this last season Marseille did not play possession football, whereas we did. Actually last season Marseille played awful, and he managed to score and assist a lot in spite of
Gignac was 28, he was not ageing or slow. He was actually the last top goalscorer of the league, and Bats was a new player at the team. That season he had the better goalscoring ratio of a sub in the top 5 leagues.
So he was benched because he was 20 yrs old, a new signing and had the last topscorer ahead of him. You are twisting facts

Bats drops into channels, roughs up defenders and works hard. I'm not saying he's better than Kane, just that he has more in his locker. He has practically the same qualities as Kane, but with more pace and ball skills. Kane's advantage is mental. His mental strength and understanding of the game and of the space is what makes him different from everyone else, and why he looks so composed even though he's very young.

Here's a video of Bats for you where he shows some of his qualities

By the time that video had gone 3 minutes I'd seen enough. Sign him up. What a prospect, custom built for the premiership.

Imagine playing two up top with him working one side of the field and Kane the other, I don't think there is a defence in the world that could hold their structure against that.

Would we be this far down the line with this signing without knowing what his wage demands were, sounds alob too me

when are we going to wrap this one up? Even Levy should know by now that nothing good ever comers from these protracted transfer-negotiations...

Don't see this one happening. All starting to look a bit too dear. Wouldnt be surprised if other teams have had a word in his ear offering more. Think we will probably wrap up Janssen fairly quickly and move on from this guy

I like it when he looks like he's going to eat a mans face at 3.30. We've missed that

I am disgusted by so many players who always say they want a transfer because they want to play in Champions League. Now that we are in CL, it's still not good enough. Instead, it's Manure who are out of CL but seems to be doing fine business of signing new players. These lying wankers should tell the truth by saying what they really want is +100k/wk pay, not this chance to play in CL rubbish.

LIke I said, don't really need the video, I've actually seen lots of Batshuayi. It's not that I dislike the kid, I think he's actually possibly a better finisher and probably has better close technique than Kane, but he really doesn't do all the stuff Kane does. Gignac, like Kane, has always had that mentality (that I've mentioned before and you allude to) he has also never been "quick" but like Kane has always been a grafter whose perseverance gets him goals and he also puts himself about, works defenders over etc. These are the qualities that Bielsa valued and are crucial at the fulcrum of that press from the front approach, despite them actually paying more for Batshauyi and him having superb scoring to minutes on pitch ratio (best in Europe as you point out)

Kane's still learning too lets not forget. He needs to add better decision making, learn there ar times he needs to play the pass and not be stupidly greedy.

Anyone who takes the press as gospel needs a check up. I have read some posters believing Daniel Levy wouldn't pay out 31m on him, or any player for example. I believe if Poch wants that player I believe we would find a way to do the deal, if it is possible especially on the wages front. There safe creative ways to stack this up as well.

Aside from whether or not Batshuayi has less or more potential, and his differing strengths, I think Kane's been a bit short changed in this discussion. Kane's bigger and stronger than Batshuayi (who is under 6 foot appparently) but more significantly is a much much better striker of a football than him, as well as having fantastic playmaking ability and passing. He actually reminded me of a striking equivalent of Beckham when coming through in a way, in that he's not fast, or a natural dribbler, but his technique in striking the ball is something else, which I think has come from natural ability honed through huge amounts of hard work and dedication.

That's not excessive for a player who's going to cost circa £30m.
100k would put him up there as our top earner though, or at least top 3. So when you take into account he's unproven in any of the top leagues it's a bit ridiculous. I see your point but we'd be paying a big chunk of that £30m on speculative potential, and in those cases the wages dont match the transfer fee. An example would be Lamela.

Think its bullshit from The Mirror anyway.

hasn't it been ITK for A WHILE (like since March) we've had player agreement settled. If that's is the case, how are they only just NOW nego. wages?
