Which players have turned us down to join Man Utd? Ibra probably will do, but he was always out of our reach and wants to play for José again.
There are credible reports out there that says Embolo is set to join Manure for 90K/wk. Would have loved to have him at Spurs.

Where he's coming from is irrelevant. Players at other clubs who cost circa £30m are on a damn site more than £100k per week. We can't expect a £30m signing to be happy with average wages. £100k is a lot for us but pretty much average for the current market.
Yes, maybe in the pl. Wage structure in foreign leagues is completely different. Players in the Bundesliga etc. earn probably as much as Championship players in England.

this Mirror story then, they've either made it up which is unlikely or someone else wanted them to print it.

This imo. They probably have made it up. All about the clicks. Several on here (who appear informed) have already said everything is agreed with the player. No quotes or sources and nothing to suggest it's credible. Presumably, we, like everyone else who wants a player from Marseille, are simply waiting until the end of the month when Marseille will be forced to fold and take a lower fee. It's what I would do if it was my money. And relax.....

Bundesliga? Do they hell.

All the recognised Dortmund, Wolfsburg, and Bayern Munich players are on £100-200k plus. Schalke, Leverkusen etc have players on circa £50-£100k.

Whereas with Marseille, despite being in financial turmoil they're still one of the bigger clubs in France and if it wasn't for their current crisis there's no way they would sell Batboy.

But we have doubled our premier league money and will have millions more because of champions league so we can afford higher salaries for the right players

I agree with your point but, the bit in bold, what then happens if we give these bigger salaries, then don't make CL again for a few years or more? Massively decreased income, but those salaries we agreed to would still have to be paid, just as the stadium will still have to be paid for, too.

Must be quite a stressful job for Levy to deal with all of those different financial commitments.

That's why this should have been wrapped up by now. Levy just never learns...

How is it Levy's fault? I'm assuming you KNOW that it's not Batshuayi or his agent who are the reason this hasn't come to fruition yet?

I also assume you KNOW that Batshuayi and his agent haven't decided to see if The Euros get a few bigger fish on the end of their hook?

Bloody hell, anyone would think Levy is the only person involved in player purchases

Lots of clubs just solve this problem by putting bonuses in contracts for making the Champions League. Seems a simple enough solution, I imagine we already do that.

He loves it. Fucking loves it. He finds it easy. Dealing with money for him is like a genius with degrees from the top 100 universities in the world, winner of 48 nobel prizes and a GCSE is drama from Peckham comprehensive doing the sun crossword.

Its entirely possible that he is. In so much as where the actual haggling and doing of the deal is concerned. Doubtless there are others involved in the mundane aspects once a deal is struck and naturally there are others involved in the selection of players but where the big bucks are concerned, its Levy (your dad) all the way baby :woot:

Where please ? Who are these 'credible' sources ?
German Bild Zeitung and RB Leipzig. Leipzig officials declared they are giving up on Embolo chase due to Manure.

Interestingly, RB Lepizig just announced Timo Werner signing. Only 10m Euros.

Why is it, when we go after Embolo, he's quoted at £20-25m but Utd rumoured to be picking him up for £15m.
Werner was quoted at £15m ish if I remember correctly, yet has just moved for €10m.
Low and behold, OM are supposedly holding out for £30m ish, let's see how much he costs.

Nah, they still need to sell to avoid getting hit by FFP. Investments does not count as revenue generated by the club and they could get hit with fines or penalties like point deductions etc.

I'm not quite sure how the accounting works, I think on some kind of rolling 3 year basis, but although the new owners can only put in something like £15m in that accounting phase, what they can do is use massively inflated sponsorship, as the ManC model for example (stadium, shirt etc) to legitimise (ffp qualifying) income. Whether they could do this immediately and now not have to sell, or it will only take effect in a future accounting phase I'm not sure.

We've spent over £20m 3 times- Son, who had an OK season but has a lot of potential to improve, Lamela- who is now a key part of our starting XI, and Soldado- the only example when it has actually ended in tears.

Pretty sure reliable intel (inc Rob on here) suggested we paid nowhere near £20m for Soldado, that was a bullshit figure (perhaps made up of ridiculous add ons) that the Valencia chairman needed to spin to appease his fans probably.

We splashed the cash for Soldado who was 28 at the time. Michy is a young striker we will have as our main striker for years to come. Just sign him. More confident about signing players like this. Exciting players are always welcome.

i dont see Batshuayi moving to Chelsea, he does not fit their playing style and honestly with the options that have been linked I dont see him as a Conte type of player. More reverse-psychology from Marseille trying to drum up interest.

anyways, not too fussed if we missed out on him. I like Janssen and from his career and what his coaches have said about him, he's a fighter and thats the kind of character we want at our club.

They have always signed some exciting players, so we need to act before them. Drogba and Malouda were both signed by Chelsea when we were linked with both before. I remember I recommended both of them when they were playing for Guingamp. We always act too late. We are a CL team now. We are in charge.

Not always we act late, juat the riches they can offer especially back then killed off any off we mustarded up, or any other team in most cases.
