Still don't think it's worth reading too much into this too much at all. After all it's just pre-season and our lineup is a bit of a jumble.

Romero and Tomiyasu would be astronomical upgrades at RB/CB, while the inclusion of Lo Celso and/or Ndombele would massively benefit us creatively and in possession.

Oh, and that Kane fella might help a bit.

My main takeaway for me is the simple reminder that Dele always has, and always will, look bad when he's constantly dropping deep like this.

Need substantial investment into this squad if we are going to be anywhere near top 4.

4-3-3 with Dele in midfield is killing us. We are struggling to keep the ball and just looking to go long most of the time. It maybe a friendly but still need a basic game plan. We look clueless.

Getting a proper midfield together is the biggest MUST for the remainder of the transfer window.
This is no different to last season. 433 with a 10 in the midfield 3. Ridiculous
There a very few teams in world football that can get away with playing four ‘attackers’ definitely not with two CMs and a shaky defence.
I really hope NES can work something out because This is already looking like a very long season.

Genuinely think we could sell about 14 of the players in this squad and not notice the difference. So many average, average players.

What that proved is we have a plethora of painfully average players in our squad. Taking the entire squad tonight there's probably only three players total I would want to see in the starting 11 come the first day of the season and probably only another three I want to see on the bench.

We have massive amounts of work to do on this squad before the season begins.

I only caught the last 15, but it seems like they've just waited to catch us out with our sloppy passing before feeding Werner to go 1v1 with Dier or Tanganga.

Dele, Reguilon and Doherty have all been guilty of playing some really bad passes.

It's going to be a really slow start to the season with so many new players joining late and needing time to bed in.

We still need 2 or 3 CB (only Rodon good enough IMO), 2 RB (Aurier off, Doherty not good enough), 2 CM'S (to replace Sissoko and Winks) and 1 or 2 Strikers (Kane going/staying????)

At the moment we potentially have Romero and Tomiyasu coming in and that's it.

Hopefully Nuno and Patatici ate now seeing what a state we are in and can start putting the recruitment into a higher gear.
