I am not terribly disappointed in this performance. Sure a few individual errors out there, but overall I feel like we are playing better than we were to start the season. We are going up against one of the best teams in recent memory, and they are punishing mistakes. Most teams will not be as ruthless. Some things to work on, for sure, but it feels like progress.

The lamela bashing is partly due to him doing the wrong things at the wrong time, being at the wrong place at the wong time. Lamela loss possession, so did mason, so did bentaleb. But they didnt lose possession cause they were doing some fancy shit.. I can understand a mispass, because we need a pass but didnt execute well. Lamela showboated and loss possession. Key is that we dont need any showboating. On this part, i feel lamela deserves all the bashing. He needs to cut out the showboating and learn how to make better decisions.

As for the "ffs get him off fucking lamela fuck" kind of bashing, honestly thats not his fault. POCH made the decision. I too feel for soldado. Scored the winner, linked up well, but dropped. POCH decided to pick lamela over soldado. What is lamela gonna say? No to the opportunity? On this part i feel lamela has been unfairly targeted, and partly i feel that its poch who put him at that spot. Poch needs to realise lamela is not ready for such games yet and not put him in such a position where hes under so much pressure to deliver, aka replace the man who just acored the winner the previous game.

I hope we get an early goal and soldado comes in soon after. I pray for a 2-2 draw

One thing I don't understand with Lloris: When you are that good a goalkeeper, how hard is it to learn how to shoot the fucking ball?
His distribution is without a doubt the worst part of his game, and it's, weirdly enough, the easiest one to improve.

How can he still suck at it? Just fix it, and he will become a truly complete GK.

Right come on Spurs. Bit of heart and I'll be happy. 4-2 and I'll buy some of the finest marching powder and miss work tomorrow.

I don't think it will be a hammering due to it being three games this week for everyone, so they'll want to preserve energy levels.

I don't even think they'll be looking to get a third really, just manage the game properly, and if it presents itself etc

They've got the early kick off against Newcastle don't forget, so Mourinho will already be thinking about that.

We just need to try and stay solid, keep the ball better and take a chance if it comes our way.

Trouble is at 0-2 we've got to commit, and our defence isn't exactly the Rourke's Drift type.

Lamela has lost the ball too much?

96% pass accuracy
2nd in touches behind bentelab with only 3 been unsuccesful (twice as many touches as lennon and eriksen)
0 dispossed

Don't let stats get in the way of a good Lamela bashing. People only need to open their eyes to see that Erik has not been poor today, not by a long stretch.

I don't know much about the game but if those stats are true then how the FUCK is Erik coming in to so much criticism on here?

Because the majority of this forum are clowns and judge a player on his pricetag rather than what hes doing on the pitch.

Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham HT:
Possession: 46%-54%
Shots: 7-6
Chances created: 6-5
Pass accuracy: 83%-82%
Crosses: 6-7

Looks like an equal game. The problem is we started well but have been 2nd best since Chelsea scored their 2 goals. They look comfortable and I don't see us getting back in it unless we change the personnel and formation at half time.

In many ways that was a very good performance, unfortunately punctuated by some careless individual moments. Mason's passing has been very careless at times, Lamela is showing well but has a couple of times done the usual turning into trouble instead of laying it off simple. Lennon was way to fucking casual for the first goal and Lloris with one of his occasional brain farts cost us a second.

I like the idea of Lamela in for Soldado away at Chelsea, he works that little bit harder off the ball and shows for it. But he really needs to cut out the fucking about at times.
I have a feeling I've read this before.

Started the second half with great intention as well and still pressing well from the front.

Love watching my team again.

We've done ok, some of our slickest passing and counter-attacking this season in those first 20mins.

We are a work in progress, big steps have been made these last few games. I'm happy

Ok, we're going over the top here. Apart from Lloris' kick that led to the second goal, we played very well that half.

Normally we would have shat it after conceding those, but we collected ourselves after a ropey 5/10 mins and continued to play and carry out our plan.

That performance is a continuation from everton to a very large degree, unfortunately we are playing the league champions elect.

I think this is a bit optimistic Thinktank, We haven't collapsed, true, but some of our players look a bit rattled and we are lacking ideas, and this is what Chelsea do... They are happy with 2-0 and are happy for us to have the ball. They'll sit on it and if chances do go their way, then great. They're not the team to go out and aim/chase to score 4/5/6 and make a statement.
