I believe it says that "Eriksen is not absolutely sure of his place at Spurs", sounds like a radio teaser for this guest Tom Vanhulsen, English specialist, who will be joining them at 14:10 to talk about the transfer of the Dane.

he needs a full season under his belt to show everyone just how good he can be.
Be that as it may, with the best will in the world he's not going to get that, or anything like it at Spurs next season. With Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele and Capoue in front of him for central midfield positions, and potentially Lamela and Eriksen who can play the 'no 10' role, if we even go with a formation that requires a no 10, Holtby isn't going to be starting too many league games for us.

Rearranging the words, I think its meant to say, 'Not sure what position he will play, having a medical at 14.10. will complete the transfer.'

EDIT: This is wrong, The translation is in reference to a radio interview, which other posters have translated better than me!:)

Holtby loaned to Ajax is a brilliant idea in my opinion. Ajax play top european football, and there he can learn things he wouldn't have learned here, especially passing wise. He will be taught to see the same holes like Eriksen. That's my take on it.
Holtby did an incredible work running, just like Eriksen does, so we will have 2 amazingly good, young midfielders next year, who understands the same concept of the game, and be able to create lots more chances. Ajax, and Dutch football in general is a great place to develop considering their style of football.
I'm sad he is leaving, but i actually think it is for the best, for us and for his development.

I guess the question is; does Eriksen fear he may not get enough playing time with all the players Spurs have or does he mean the 'place of Spurs'? Which would imply he is not sure of signing for THFC in general. I hope its the former as if we offload Holtby & Sig I'm sure he would get ample playing time.

No, the tweet is from the radio station and they are having that guy on as a guest. That quote they put about him not being sure of his place is essentially a teaser to what they are going to be talking about.

Presumably Eriksen could fit in in a couple of positions for us so I'm sure we can guarantee him lots of games.

He can play as one of the midfield 3 in a 4-3-3, or as a wide forward in that formation. In a 4-2-3-1 he can play behind the striker or as one of the wide players.

Sure it wouldn't be a problem.

Not sure why we're buying the Danish Gylfi Sigurdsson when we have the Finnish one....

From the Guardian:

10.33am BST
Below the line, molefromtheministry gives his verdict on Eriksen.

I touched on this yesterday. Must admit I don't get to watch the Eredivisie much, but I've seen him for Denmark quite a number of times and, unlike you Jacob, I find that his reputation as a Wunderkind far exceeds his actual ability. He's excellent at finding space and making himself available for team-mates, and you can see that he has a very good first touch, but whenever he receives the ball, he traps it elegantly, looks a model of Danish design for a second or two, then plays either a risk-free or an errant pass. He's a good player, by all means, but I don't think he'll ever be the superstar he's been hyped up as for years. Then again, Spurs are a much better team than Denmark, so maybe he'll show his true colours in the company of classier team-mates? In all honesty, though, I suspect the bench beckons, although I sincerely hope I'm wrong."

If we get our targets, posting a best XI will be futile. We won't have one. We'll have a best 22-25. That's exactly the way it should be as well. Teams tailored for each match to target opposition weaknesses.

Can't wait for this season to get into full swing and for the games to come thick and fast!

This would be true for Carroll but not Holtby who was outstanding for Schalke and is very experienced. Holtby doesn't need to go away and learn stuff, he needs an opportunity to play at Spurs, which I am sure he will get this season.

I don't think he'd have any trouble holding down a place if he plays as well as he can. Spurs is the best place for young attackers like him because as supporters we've always liked a flair player or two and we get behind them from their first game. I guess you could say that about other clubs but I'd say we're famous for it.

No, I think amathews3416 is right, they'll have on a Premier League 'specialist' at 14.10 to talk about Eriksen's transfer, and to get people to tune in they pose the question if Eriksen will be a starter.

Edit: Though amathews3416 poses it as if Eriksen is wondering this. He's not. They're just making a relatively controversial statement - 'Eriksen won't be an assured starter at Spurs - to find out why, join us at 14.10 with our England Specialist @whoever to discuss Eriksen's transfer.' would best capture the nature of the tweet.
