I think Lamela is likely to be off based on the links to attacking players

Yeah maybe. Not sure if anyone would be willing to bid an amount we would deem acceptable considering his injuries and lack of game time over the past few years. Anyway, not our concern. I've no issue with selling Lamela.

Would have preferred Martial but Pulisic ticks a load of boxes on and off the pitch. I think Poch would make him into quite a player. Would be handy in a 4-1-4-1, or 3-4-2-1, although were are weak in CM options for the latter.

How long does it take to actually draft the paper work for a "formal bid". How long is that document exactly? I'd have a hard time believing that took more than a day or two. I work in commercial real estate and I've seen 90 pages lease documents that get done pretty quickly as most of it is a template that you simply add things into as I would imagine this is as well.

Wow I only just realised this kid is 19 years old - I honestly thought he was about 23. I'm super impressed.

Love the idea of Pulisic playing more centrally, like he does for the U.S.

Here are two examples of his talent while playing for the US men's team.

In the first, against Panama, he has the touch to reach back and control a poor layoff, then goes around the keeper and slots it in at a steep angle.

Pulisic goal against Panama

In the second, he picks up a loose ball at the top of the penalty area, finds some space, and bombs a long distance shot in the top corner.

Pulisic goal against Trinidad & Tobago.

It will probably take at least a couple of days if the IT staff is anything like mine.

United sell about 3m shirts a year in total. I doubt a £50m player will sell enough shirts to make back his transfer fee. He'll sell a lot of shirts, but the vast majority of those buyers aren't getting a second shirt with someone else's name.

Its not just the shirts....... In America he is the one they love so i would imagine also the naming rights would have something to do with it

Just posted in the ITK thread about this. It will probably take at least a couple of days if the IT staff is anything like mine.
I think (or guess) that it's more to do with what the clauses are and deciding how to approach those. Then there's (potentially) waiting to see if interest in another player comes to anything, or how old the ITK actually is before we get it, there's a whole raft of things that might be a factor before the club decide to make an official move.

It's exactly like buying a fucking shop.

What would be the point of Grealish if we add Pulisic? I understand if Martial was the target as Martial can't also play #10 but Pulisic can. That could only mean Grealish being tasked for a different role I would imagine.

Forwards: Kane, Son, Lucas, Pulisic, Lamela
CM: Eriksen, Dele, Winks, Grealish
DM: Dier, Wanyama

Something like that?

Good to know he can do it against the top sides as well!

I'm pretty certain Grealish will be used as a CM as well as an alternative for Eriksen. Poch wants someone who can break the lines by being able to spin away from opposition, Grealish is great at this and it's why we supposedly wanted Barkley.

Pulisic will therefore add variation to our attacking line.

I'm sure Levy is wanting to get this one done early so he can join the team on the United States tour. That would be huge for the club to grow further in the States and $$$$$ opportunities.

Buying one player may well affect us moving for multiple others. That's why we have a list of multiple players. It's not just the case that because one player isn't available we just move down the list. It's about how that one individual covers the needs of the squad, and then it's a case of what else we need to fill the other missing criteria.

Not knowing what we expect from either player it's not possible to guess whether he'd still be high on the radar or not should we buy Pulisic, or any other player for that matter.

This one makes sense for us on so many levels. Huge prospect who's first team ready with massive commercial upside. Also to the people who feel this may leave us over-loaded in the attacking mid/winger department especially if Grealish is to join as well. Pretty sure I recall Herc saying that Poch wanted the kind of attacking options City have in order to mix things up and change approach. Would be delighted if we were to pull this one off.
