Each to their own. Never had a problem with it and found it to be one of the best moderated forums I'm on.

you must be one of the indoctrinated coming to defend the forum

edit* very interesting read, glad I didn't go through with an app in the past, wouldn't have lasted long anyway it seems, not one to follow blindly and prefer a balanced view, be it positve or negative things to say

Haha, just saying what I sees. Been there for four years with no probs and the huge number of members and posts on there every day suggests to me most who use it think it's ok. I found this thread a bit of a shock actually as I've always found it friendly enough over there. And talking about moderation, I've found the level of moderation there means off topic threads about religion, war, politics or whatever don't often end up in flame wars like on other internet forums. That's just my experience, obviously other people haven't found it to be like that.

To be fair, I found their forum long before I found this one, so I tend to gravitate there, rather than here, automatically when I want to post anything to do with Spurs just out of habit. If I'd found this one first it might be the other way around.

We're all Spurs at the end of the day.

I received an email once from them (after I told them to stick their membership a few years back)... a colleague at work had registered and I presume the saw his IP address and assumed it was I. Anyway, I got an email from COYS supposedly cc'ing a solictors email address and a police email address.

So I replied to all to inform them of their mistake and was not surprised to see my email bounce to the latter two addresses.

Similarly when I asked them to delete any records they had of me or my information under the data protection act, I received no response.

So basically COYS is full of absolute assholes, most of which are Mods. I don't buy this Prof's all right rubbish as I'm sure by now he'd know about what's going on. Nazis.

They actuall get the police and lawyers involved? Eek

Bit heavy handed isn't it?

Yeah tbf, they used to bring a 5 a side team down to the SC 5 a side tournament.

They did used to whitewash us admittedly though ;-)

We definitely would have won if it was the best v the best of the site though (or at least I hope we would have!).

I played for the COYS team who won the tournament two years running a few years back. Don't think any of the other lads who played still post on COYS.

Yeah I remember you actually mate.

Good times those, inter forum games, its a massive shame that the 5 a side comps aren't as busy as they were originally, cos they were an awesome day out.

I think fella above makes a good point, generally you lean towards where you were first comfortable, most of us here lean here, and those that use coys over there.

Probably why my account was removed for not posting as much, but I found the format difficult to use, compared to here.

I was a very active member on COYS but was banned for a quite inncouous comment about my views on the state of Israel (on a thread discussing the issue).

Tbh I feel I was very unfairly treated and the mods had been looking for an excuse to get rid of me for a while because I did'nt think Ramos and Comoli were good for the club.

Mods are very sensitive over there and you do feel like your walking on eggshells. Its a good site with lots of good posters and interesting threads but at times its pretty unuseable and a wide range of views on the club is not encouraged.

PS. The site also seems very money orientated....I was a student when I used it and couldnt contribute and I always felt this worked against me as well....the constant posts asking for money were very annoying.

I wondered where you'd got to. 500 posts a day, then silence.

I think they're so keen to be liberal, they are completely illiberal.

I remember you and the thread. We got banned around the same time so I didn't realise you had been permanently banned.

Spurs Forums are much of a muchness really.

Full of people talking shit about issues they have no control over.

Great fun.

I joined COYS a couple of years ago because I got pissed off with a few things on here :
Members posting abuse to each other just because they did not agree or were not interested in thread.
Shutting down the match thread and insisting we had to use chatroom during the matches
Mods being pedantic about repeat threads and making a big deal about it. That was it seemed a higher priority than sorting out the abuse.

When you join COYS you are asked to post a " this is my first post " thread and I must say I was impressed with the warmth of the welcomes from COYS members- maybe 100+ replies.

Having said all that, while I still post on both forums I do agree that threads can be a little tedious on there . There are also too many non - football related items mixed up with the Spurs related ones. However I think there are good and bad things about both forums.

Since I joined COYS the things that drove me away from SC are now less relevant. There is more control over obscenities and abuse than there used to be and you can now post on match threads during matches. I now use SC again much more than COYS but imo the more forums on which you can feed your " Spurs lust "the better.
