Crunchtime on Bale: Keep or Sell

Should we just stick? Keep Bale and go for it with what we already have?

We are at a huge crossroads as a club.

Would you sell Bale now and bolster the squad in different postiions as much as financially possible?

Or would you pull the plug on Bale deal and play till January with our current squad + a young player, like Vlad, Halilovic, Toby?

The season has started. I think if its financially possible, we should pull the plug on Gareth and keep him for at least another season. Build on our performances at Palace and Tblisi, then add our man, would be nuts.

Agree with you, as the current squad + Bale is strong enough to challenge top 3.

Good question, i voted to keep Gareth cos after last night's debacle, i just wished the window would slam shut now!

What we can't have is Bale leaving sparking Real casting off their players to our rivals using their money to fund Gareth!
Imagine if Real strengthens the Arse with Di Maria/Benzema or Manure with Ozil, we'll lose an asset and they gain a couple!

Ditto for the Willian deal, i'm not pissed at him snubbing us per se cos thats what most rational footballers would do (more $, UCL etc) but i'm more worried about the potential Mata/Rooney swap! This would address both Chelscum and Manure's weaknesses and make our title bid more tedious!

We've already strengthened in key positions with a net spend of 39m, if Norwich can spend 25m based on the new TV deal, we can afford to live with what we have and see Arse and Manure struggle in the market!

I voted for the first option. The way I see it he hasn't done anything wrong. Not spoken publicly about wanting to leave, not disrespected the badge in any way. He's one of the best players in the world, and given the option of keeping him we'd be mad not to, even if it did mean no new incoming players.

I'd love it if we keep him. Love it!

keep him but we still need a CB and a winger/playmaker (chriches & eriksen). whether we can afford that along with our other signings without selling remains to be seen.

pull the plug. buy lamela and eriksen, sell him for 80m euros next year. i'm willing to take that 10-20m euros hit, to gamble for title, prize money, cup money and cl placing money

Not sure there is a decision to be made, pretty sure it's done. Just hope we can announce Lamela soon and then go all out for a Willian substitute.

I think Bale is all but done. BUT that's not done - as we all know. If we don't get our replacement (i.e Lamela) then we'll likely pull the plug. We're still in the driving seat here, guys and girls.

If asked this before the Willian debacle I would have been tempted to say sell, and use the money to strengthen in various positions so that we are not overly reliant on one player like last season - I would have even been happy that we use some of the funds on stadium related activity

However our rivals are feeling all too pleased with themselves thinking they have weakened us by blocking Willian's move, and for that reason alone I have changed my mind, would call their bluff and tell GB he's staying

I wouldn't do this until the end of the window, otherwise it would give GB and RM and whomever else too much time to kick up a fuss to try and engineer a move by forcing our hand - lets just let everyone think he's leaving and then announce that he's not on 31 Aug!

I have utter faith in Daniel Levy, he has proved himself time and time again in my view, but my only fear is that the deal was done ages ago, but had not been announced due to us specifically requesting that we must do our business first

Keep him and have a squad supremely capable of finishing in the top three.
I didn't want to sell him the first place and the additions already in place
which don't depend on the Bale money have strengthened us considerably.
Capoue can play centre half, Fryers is decent fifth choice.

We have a nice balance now of experienced Carlos's
and young players shaping up nicely.
On Thursday we finished the game with 6 in house British players
five of them under 24 (Naughton, Carroll, Rose, Townsend, Kane and Dawson)
and Lennon Walker and Defoe to come in
Seriously upgraded but with a vital continuity and still with a Tottenham feel about it.
I don't want success at any cost, but I do want success.

In a perfect world I would keep him at the club. But in a perfect world I would be biffing his missus during training.

I think the "saga" has gone on for too long and his head may well have been turned though. If we can sign Lamela and a bit of a playmaker then I don't think the squad suffers overall. If we can strengthen at CB and LB then that's a bonus. But it seems to me like the toothpaste is out of the tube and it's a son of a bitch to get it back in.

If we keep I reckon we can win the league.

I voted sell bale and not because I want him gone but because he has gone already in his mind and would be bloody hard to turn his head back to our situation, If we get players like Lamela in and whoever else then we would be stronger as a team. With Bale in the team it does not answer our creativity issue and how many games did Bale REALLY control for 90mins last season. A world class player who can score spectacular goals and has massive amounts of pace and a great left foot.

If you put him on the left he gets bullied by 2-3 defenders, If you put him in the middle he lacks technical ability and if you put him on the right then he can only be a threat from cutting inside. That said if Bale was willing to stay then of course you never say no do you?

He's already been sold I'm sure. To call it off now would probably be asking from trouble with the player now.
