Do we get any money from the Bent sale?

How about a job lot for Pav, Crouch and Keane to Sunderland for 30M.

Apparently we got around £4m, not sure if that's of the initial £18m/£19m, or the £24m. That might be irrelevant.

Either way, it's just bought us a new winger.

Crossed my mind earlier - it took quite a some time haggling with Sunderland for add-ons/share of profit

from henry Winter on Twitter

My maths is terrible but 10 per cent sell-on #thfc reportedly due for Darren Bent almost covers Steven Pienaar fee. #levytax

there were loads of appearance and success addons in the Bent fee which would have taken it from the initial £10m (that Sunderland announced at the time) to the £16.5m (that we announced to the Stock Exchange). As he has been sold for in excess of £16.5m before the end of the 4 years in which the add ons could have crystallised, I would imagine we end up with the full £16.5m (possibly we've already had £2.5m based on goals etc and that's why it's £4m now)

Yeah, let's not bother with strikers for the second half of the season...

actually the loan fee for bentley paid for pienaar, this extra cash will go straight towards a new striker(s)!

I heard that we'd get around £6 million because of sell on value plus some of the fee Sunderland still hadn't paid us. That was on SSN.

Peanut suggested that the clause wasn't 10% but was a kind of 'money back guarantee' on what we paid Charlton for him.....

so Levy not only didn't make a loss on Bent he may have even made a profit!! WOW!! Could he do the same for Bentley?!

I doubt it very much but you never know. We paid 15mil for Bentley and apparently Birmingham have paid us 2m loan fee so we need to make up 13m on the deal - who knows!!

The suggestion I heard was a percentage on anything above what we sold him for. Anyway, it's a bonus as I don't think anyone was expecting him to leave, let alone for that kind of money.
