Did anyone else spot Danny Rose tweeting last night? He said this: Decent to see new young faces drafted into the England squad !! Looking forward to going somewhere next season and PLAYING some games !!!

By all accounts he has taken a bit of abuse from it, but hasnt clarified whether he will be leaving on loan or permenantly........

Just can't understand why players have to air all of their thoughts on twitter. I can't see how writing comments like that can be in anyway constructive even if it isn't a particularly bad thing to say. He wasn't offensive or anything like that but I don't think it helps.

he tweeted this morning that he was heading back from Marbella so I wouldnt be suprised if he was out on the beers when he tweeted late last night. Either way im sure someone at spurs will be having a chat with him.

On the other side - I would say that would suggest Vertonghen is pretty much done as last season Rose wasnt allowed to leave due to being our back up LB

Isn't tweeting about anyone saying anything they want to say? I got very bored with it and don't use it any more.

Too much gossip, too many rumours and too much misinformation IMHO.

I'm not being funny but considering the way he played when he got his chance the kid should just shut the f**k up and work on his game rather than acting like a child. If he goes I hope it permanently as we can do without players with bad attitudes.

Not smart, but it's impossible to keep everyone happy, when you've got a talented squad like we have.

Footballers are not allowed to ride motorbikes due to insurance, I am beginning to wonder whether Twitter should be removed from them as well.

Seriously, if I tweeted some of the crap that footballers do about my employees I would soon find myself unemployed.

This Tweet of Danny Rose is not bad, but it isn't sensible. If he doesn't care, then so be it...

If anything though, the responses from "fans" to tweets are often worse than the tweets themselves and that in itself is sad. Players should stay away from Twitter purely because it seems to bring out the worst in people.

I don't see the problem with his tweet personally.

If any of ourfans are abusing him, then they are a disgrace. With very short memories.

Also regarding footballers on Twitter: I don't expect people to iunderstand what it's like to not be able to say anything unless it has gone through numerous press officers and PR officials. When Twitter offered another route, it's extremely liberating.

i can understand his frustration and wanting to leave for regular football. he can only improve as player if given game time. so good luck to him. he surely will not get games under harry unless someone gets injured.

I don't think he said anything bad tbh, he's looking forward to playing games elsewhere, he isn't going to games with us, is he?

fully agree, we can be so tribal at times. a young man who wants to advance his career should not be held back. we tend to get very insulting towards players who wish to play regularly. if anything he harbours resenment towards harry and not the club.

No one is denying that freedom of speech is a wonderful liberating experience, but if you worked in the public domain and posted how you are frustrated with your job, would you not expect to get called in for a chat?!

Let's not confuse the issue here, what Danny Rose tweeted wasn't bad, it shows frustration, but no more and abuse from fans is unacceptable, we agree on that.

But I put it to you that footballers and Twitter are a bad mix.

We dislike HR for using the public media for his stuff, why not have a pop at players? Rio is the latest to throw toys out of pram. Footballers are employees of a club. They get paid to do a job. They get paid to respect their employer and if they have cause for grievance to take it up with their employer, not go crying to all and sundry in the media.

Ok, I personally dislike Twitter and see no point in following someone's day anyway.

'Footballer in "want's to play" comment shocker'...

Doesn't it go without saying that he wants to play, and if he was told he's leaving (whether on loan or permanently) then he'll be looking forward to playing?

PS, don't think he'll ever be good enough for us anyway, but good luck to him. He earned my respect for his goal V the goons, fluke or not.

He said he's looking forward to playing some games. Hardly bringing the club into disrepute.

I suppose if he had said "'I'm staying put at Spurs and i'm hardly going to play any games whilst collecting millions in wages. I couldn'tbe happier.

I'm glad you've owned up to real impetus behind your post.

For all you know he has already been told he is being loaned or sold. With BAE solidly in front of him and Vertonghen apparently deft at playing LB and also Gallas it's easy for him to see he probably won't be used.

It's hard to imagine beind a footballer. People just think: "He earns thousands a week, what's he fucking got to worry about?"

Imagine yourself being at your place of work. The firm won't give you any work to do but force you to come in every day and do nothing. You still have to attend all the boring meetings even though you and they know you'll have no impact at the place, but watch everyone get the glory. You start to feel down but the company owns you so you can't quit. You ask to be transferred somewhere else but they constantly refuse. On top of that you have tens of thousands of people who have never met you or know you constantly slagging you off in the most revolting, personal terms. You want to say something but the press officer won't let you. All the stress, depression, loathing builds up. You wait for interviews but can only reply to what interviewers ask you and the you have to the very thin line between getting your feelings across and toeing the club line. Finally a direct route comes up. You opt to use it by saying a very tame statement to the effect you would like to be able to do the job you dreamed about and have worked hard for. Cue more of the public to insult you....

Yes, of course, Danny Rose is a **** isn't he?

Thirty plus grand a week softens the blow somewhat, people put up with a lot more than that for minimum wages.

The problem with the tweet is that he is trying to make out we are holding him back. When in fact it is the fact he is not good enough which is. If he worked hard and showed real improvement in training I'm sure Redknapp would have used him more, but he didn't. It was his decision to sign the lucrative contract he is on, and now he wants to moan about not playing.

I don't think he would tbh, Harry doesn't like to rotate and will play BAE and Bale on the left side come hell or high water.
