Daniel Levy would be proud of you guys. Always having dear leaders back. He'd be so proud if he actually gave a shit about what fans think.
I mean, the Sun is a filthy disgusting rag to be fair.

I mean, there are plenty of reasons to hate the Sun.

Calling it a pile of shit isn't exactly backing Levy, it more acknowledging historical fact.

We are the 6th best paying club in the league, I don't think we'll ever compete with City, UTD and the chavs. We can get to where Arse are (as long as we start winning things) and Liverpool are reckless with the wages they pay. The players should know that, them complaining less than a year after getting improved contracts is not on.

if after increased revenue from the new stadium, sponsorship etc we're not paying or best players north of 120k then they have the right to knock on Levy's door

There'll be an increase in match day revenue this year too. I think, not totally sure, that the Nike deal was bigger and AIA deal went up - might have imagined that though.
Fact is though we don't have to wait two years to bump wage structure up. We can afford it now. I know we've gotta be frugal but there comes a point that's it more sensible for future success to make sure this team stays together.

I agree we'll never match Manchester clubs or Chelsea but we need to close the gap. Poch, the new stadium, the project, how we play, London, environment and training facilities etc do play their part but it's not enough if players can double wages elsewhere. If it was matter of 20/30 grand increase elsewhere I don't think the players would care in balance of things.

I sort of agree with him on the wages. It seems the team is overachieving what their wages are. Not knowing fuck all about how the clubs finances work but you would like to see that they get rewarded for their performances. Maybe the way around it is in bonuses for achievements but keeping the wages still inline with the clubs structure. The better they do the better their bonus! Seems very simple which I'm sure it isn't.

However I would say that danny needs reminding where he came from and that he wasn't no stellar signing! That part was pretty fuckin stupid and disrespectful to his fellow team mates. If I was dier and Ali I'd be asking him what he thought of their YouTube videos. Silly bastard!

It may very well be but the hate for it has spilled onto other media outlets that are reporting the same thing. Perhaps i should have wrote media. My mistake. The point is valid though. We are hating the media and players in this thread because they want to be paid more and want to feel like they are being backed by their employer. Who wouldnt want that? I understand this is now a hot button topic on here because dear leader has been called out publicly but maybe, just maybe, Danny Rose and the other players(if the latest media reports are correct) have a valid point in what they are saying. The timing sucks but giess what also sucks? The fact we got weaker by selling the best right back in the league to a league rival a fucking month ago and havent replaced him. The fact we still havent signed one player(only professional club in England to not sign anyone so far). The players want quality additions to spur them on and push us to the title and they also want to be paid alittle closer to market rate. Is that so horrible to justify this type of shit being spewed on here?

Who's to say they weren't all getting rises anyway, all the new contracts were sorted in September last year, could be the same this year. Danny boy could have just blown his chance of getting one, if I was levy I'd be giving everyone but him a bump up, let him sweat until January.

It will interesting to see what our revenue will be for this season, I have to confess I don't know anything about the deal, are we on the hook for all the extra policing for having it at full capacity, do we get anything from match day revenue, will the additional numbers just cover the cost of renting it? I think we also have to factor in the lose in revenue from last season for losing 4000 odd seats.

No point in blaming The Sun. They broke a good story and it's the journalist's job to do so.

The problem with the story, from a Spurs fans' perspective, is what Danny Rose had to say.

He spoke the words and they're clear enough. His agent didn't speak the words - although he might have arranged the interview. Danny Rose said what he said and he'll have to live with what he said. For better or for worse.

At this point, sell him. Get the £50m, get sessegnon, and start rebuilding and replacing. There is no need for that dramatic bravado.

No one is above anyone in this team, and it's time to make more bank and reload accordingly.

The worst fhing that idiot Rose did was to go public. How would the other prof players in the team see this? Do you believe thaey will have respect towards him ? I see a very upset Poch let alone DL!

This is weird. Just back from emergency hospital treatment for my youngest and suddenly the Rose thread explodes. Then I read some of his comments and I'm completely befuddled; his emergence as a decent FB is totally down to Poch and he publicly betrays Poch and the club to one of the most insidiously unpleasant rags there is in the footballing landscape.
Irrespective of his frustrations, this is the wrong way to do things. He was dogshit four years ago, and now we owe him a big contract? Get some honour you measly prick and talk with your employers face to face. Or, just don't sign a new contract.
Hope he/she's OK.

Get him out of our club we've suvived bigger best players leaving than this twat. It's never about the player that leaves more about the player that replaces them. Can't have such a disrespectful knob in our club.

Oh dear the times now getting involved rose applauded by colleagues.
is this a real mutiny situation next year Toby, the year after he's one of our own and alli,if no silverware
That is worst case scenario.
Custodians of our beloved club will be at the crossroads if they can't or won't pay up then let someone come in who can to take us to the next level for a healthy profit of course.
The cat is well and truly out the bag.

Exactly. Players hate things coming out of the dressing room into the public eye. It destroys secrecy and loyalty amongst team mates. I suspect they are bewildered.

Hertyid on coys says the same thing:

Assuming my guy isn't lying to me, he certainly didn't receive a hero's welcome, the opposite in fact.

I've seen no quotes from any player to support Rose. I don't expect any. Media just love jumping on a bandwagon.

I'm surprised people haven't learnt yet that the papers write anything to sell copies or generate clicks. What's going to get more "open revolt at Spurs" or "Danny Rose shunned at training".

It's not rocket science.

Back when we had a leaky defence I would be furious at Rose for giving away freekicks close to our box with badly timed tackles when we were holding on to a lead...
Well lets just say he is our most improved player
This is as badly timed as those tackles...

If he just wanted signings then this probably wasn´t the best way.

Wanting an improved contract you would think best time to open talks is on the back of a period of strong performances not after 6 months out...

Wanting a move you would probably want to be fit to pass a Medical...

Tbh as far as wages go, even before the Rose story, I was fully expecting a repeat of last season where all the senior players sign slightly improved extensions to their contracts. (Hopefully starting with Toby)
Let's see what happens now.
