Great game. Big credit to Redknapp for putting him in, many managers would have just put Kaboul at RB and Charlie at LB leaving our team unbalanced....

Good thread, no need to purchase a LB now at all. And we have two really promising full-backs on either sides in the from of Rose and Walker, who have performed very well in the premiership!

Corluka at rb is painful enough at lb makes me want to slit my own throat

One thing's for sure from today, he can time a tackle at full speed to absolute perfection. Handy skill to have as a defender chasing back.

Very impressed with him tonight.
Good thread and great point, we don't need a new LB right now.

Was sloppy for the goal, but other than that was great. Definitely worth sticking with, but Ifil looked good after two games too remember. Hopefully he will start for the remaining games.
So did King and the rest as you know was history

That's what I have alluded to in recent threads. Players stepping up in the remaining games. Rose has took the opportunity and looks like he will be back-up to BAE next season. His performances over the last two games have arguably saved his career at the club, that shows strong character.

very impressed with him again tonight. looked positionally off at the start, but improved and was solid defensively. he seems to bomb forward more than BAE does in terms of actually getting to the byline, but maybe that was because Bale wasnt playing.

wouldnt mind rose and walker as attacking-full backs in the games where we keep struggling to break lower teams down, at home.

Really promising as a left back. Some of his tackles in the last two games have been immense, he's good in the air and he gets forward well from there. He's also a determined little bastard, often winning it back immediately after any mistake. I think he'll do well and be good competition with Ekotto, and hopefully he can develop a relationship with Bale similar to Ekotto's with Bale as Rose and Bale are close in age.

I was really impressed with Danny Rose at left back, he deserve to be Assou-Ekotto's understudy.

Left back cover sorted for me.

That made me laugh.

But yeah he did very well tonight and I'm sure he'll be in the squad for next season now.

He's done really well in the 2 games he's played - thought vs Citeh he made some dangerous (stupid) passes in-fieled which Citeh intercepted and lead to dangerous attacks - but he did improve as the game went on. His crosses need to bit of work but he sure got potential.
And yes the LB back-up sport for next season is now covered.

Yep he's been quality, if he keeps it up for pool and brum he will be the new back up LB.

Will he still be young enough next season to not be counted in the 25 man squad? That'd be even more handy

looked good again today, but I still need to see more of him at LB to get a better idea of how he'll hold up against teams who push us back alot

city weren't that great today but I suspect pool will give him a much sterner test

looks to have big potential as a LB for sure and likes a tackle

Danny Rose never struck me as a left back. Anyone else spot that?

Townsend is my man. I think he will be better than Taarabt the great is.
