Really promising as a left back. Some of his tackles in the last two games have been immense, he's good in the air and he gets forward well from there. He's also a determined little bastard, often winning it back immediately after any mistake. I think he'll do well and be good competition with Ekotto, and hopefully he can develop a relationship with Bale similar to Ekotto's with Bale as Rose and Bale are close in age.

Determined like a proper Yorkshireman. :x

Rose has ability in abundance but the question mark regarding his attitude still remains.

When I made a point of watching Bristol City his performances tended to fluctuate from excellent to piss-poor. When he fancied it, he was the best player on the park. However, more often than not, he looked completely uninterested; rarely looked to regain possession of the ball after he had given it away cheaply and rarely looked to make himself available to relieve pressure on his team mates. This was in complete contrast with Caulker who looked throughly committed whenever he pulled on the shirt.

What baffles me was why he wasn't played at LB for City when their regular was injured. Watching him now he looks far better when he has space to run into although his delivery needs to improve.

It may be he considers himself a pl player? Awful if true but a modern blight.

Danny Rose never struck me as a left back. Anyone else spot that?

Townsend is my man. I think he will be better than Taarabt the great is.

I did when he got recalled I mentioned it one of the threads, saying that I also mentioned we should Sanchez before the world cup, to which I got a reply, he's just another taarabt Eek

Taarabt will be found out again next season.

Our very own young players are worth using, unfortunately Arry does not seem to think so, unless he is pushed against the wall.

He had a good game last night but IMO I think he also showed what he could do on the left wing . In left back though he made some very accurate tackles and got up the pitch loads . Hope he gets more chances next season .

He's certainly done well in the 2 games he's played (but has to learn not to play those dangerous passes in-field!) and deserve a place in the squad next season - both as LB & LMF back up.

I thought Danny was brilliant again last night, fantastic slide tackles, good positioning and raided down the left all day.

I'd argue the main thing he needs to work on is his crossing when he's in the final third. There's a lot of potential in him though, left back should be his position for the future.

Yep he's been quality, if he keeps it up for pool and brum he will be the new back up LB.

Will he still be young enough next season to not be counted in the 25 man squad? That'd be even more handy

He'll be 21 in June, so IIRC, 21 and younger at 31/8 should allow him to not be counted in the 25.

Danny's coming along just fine, he puts 100% effort in and makes a very useful contribution.

He's "winning his spurs".

Danny was slightly better this game than the last but not brilliant. The sliding tackles were nice to watch though, perfect time after time.

Bad positioning again just like last game, leaving big gaps between him and Dawson. This is mainly due to inexperience in this role though and can be taught. The goal showed his inexperience.

If he's under 21 at the turn of the year then he won't count towards the squad, he's 20 now so he'll count as a youngster.

Was very pleasantly surprised by his performance last night, having missed the Blackpool game. Nice tackling and was keen to get forward and whip the crosses in.

His last couple of performance have come as a pleasent surprise, I would be more than happy to keep him as a LB next season allowing us to spend more on strikers/pacey winger/GK
