I swear to god, if it goes to deadline day and them ****s down the road sign Falcao whilst we end up with Wellbeck then I'm giving up on supporting Spurs. Mark my words. Enough is enough.

I think there's almost no chance Arsenal get Falcao, but don't let that hold you back.

Tottenham confident Danny Welbeck's transfer from Manchester United will go through on deadline day

Surplus to requirements England striker is believed to have spoken to Arsenal and overseas clubs including Schalke but Spurs feel he'll join them on loan

Tottenham are confident of tying up a loan move for Manchester United and England striker Danny Welbeck tomorrow.

Sunday Mirror Sport exclusively revealed last week that Welbeck, 23, favoured a move to the north Londoners, after being told he could leave the Old Trafford giants.

It is believed that Welbeck’s representatives have also spoken to Arsenal as well as interested clubs from abroad, including German club Schalke, but the player wants to stay in the Premier League.

Tottenham’s other chief striking target, QPR’s French hitman Loic Remy, has signed for Chelsea leaving Welbeck – who wants consistent game time – as the clear option for Spurs on deadline day.

If we do sign this guy, I hope he eventually plays his favored position. I think he's a very poor wide player, but decent finisher from the CF position.

Can't dribble, can't create, can't shoot from decent range. Chadli can offer what Welbeck may from the LWF position, but can also do those other three things at least decently enough.

Hope we get him on a permanent now.
I agree but JJ seemed to say that we want permanent deals but the other clubs (in this case, United) only want to send them out on loan so we don't really have a choice.

Its weird because if LVG doesn't really want to use him, and he's here for the long term...what's the point of a loan from their point of view etc...

He's joining RM so I guess we're stuck with your support for a little while longer

Welbeck is decent but if he wants regular playing time he has more chance at arsenal than us with Giroud injured. Sanogo is horribly bad in terms of finishing and sanchez can't play up front. We have ade and Soldado who are both better finishers and kane who is at least as good. So the only place we have available is on the left where he doesn't want to play as he has no chance of playing ahead of Lamela on the right.

I like his all around game but just don't see where he fits in at all?

I sway from don't want him to thinking MoPo can train him into another Henry (T not R)
He is supposed to be on £80k per week so it all depends on the deal.

Ade is gone in January and I think it's fair to say if we bring Welbeck or another CF in tomorrow it means Soldado is off. Unless Poch views Welbeck as a LWF primarily.

Don't think it'll necessarily mean Soldado is off. We probably know we can sell Townsend to Southampton for x-amount (£12m? Somewhere between 10 and 15 anyway) any time we like, and we might take up that option to create space for Welbeck, if he comes.

There's no point bringing him in unless it's permanent or a loan with an option to buy imo.

The whole point of this deal is that he's got raw potential, and impressive physical attributes that could lead to him being a very good LWF/ST in the future.

He's not the finished article, why would we sign him on loan w/o an purchase option?
