Don't get me wrong, i am not saying that we should cast off Chadli or Townsend for Welbeck. I actually am interested to see what Poch does with those two this season.
But if we moved for Welbeck i wouldn't be ready to jump off a bridge saying it was the worst signing we could have possibly made....then again i wouldn't be proclaiming it was the signing that would win us the league. It's just an interesting signing.

I rate him.
He has the attitude to succeed under Poch, and physically you can't deny he has it all. Fast, tall, pretty strong.
The technical stuff can be worked on, he presses better than 99% of other strikers, and his strike rate is actually very good.
I'd take him for anything up to 13/14m in a heartbeat to play as LWF. Homegrown too.

Its not the worst signing. maybe the most pointless.
I would rather we concentrate on a CB rather than swap identikit attackers around

I think technically he's very good. It's getting inside his head that's the key to unlocking his potential. He wants to keep the ball and pass and pass, but he needs to learn when to be more direct and apply the killer touch.
Essentially he's the anti-Townsend!
