I guess SAF was hoping Moyes would have a few seasons to shape his own team, to accomplish a similar thing to what he did at Everton only with United's vast resources.

Unfortunately, in the days of player power and intense media scrutiny over every decision / failure (I guess it wasn't so bad when SAF started there?) Moyes was just never going to have the time he needed to adjust. Speaking prematurely of course, but with reports that he's lost the dressing room I can't see him surviving until next season.

I had to go to the third page to find this...reinforces how used to their demise we have become.

Found this on RedCafe on their 2014 league form:

We've played 14, won 4, drawn 3 and lost 7...scored 18, against 19

Fulham have played 15, won 3, drawn 4 and lost 8.....scored 16, against 27

Its incredible when you look at it like that. Granted ive chalked the home game against sunderland as a draw as we technically lost the game. Can anybody with more time on their hands give an idea of what type of form mancini, boas, scolari, di matteo and other managers that have left big clubs were on at the time of their departure?

Bonkers appointment in the first place.

Moyes appointment has lasted longer than I predicted mind.

Now they've missed out on AVB also..........

Yeh I've become a Man Utd fan just recently , LVG would go there ahead of us .

Go the Reds !:cautious:
Unless Fergus clears his desk and does one I really can't see LVG going there....come to think of it what manager would with him still strutting his stuff at the club?

I really can't see him being there next season. He's already spent £60M on two players that he doesn't really seem to know how to fit into his team and in the summer he's going to have to go out and sign about six or seven new players. Are the owners really going to trust him to spend that money wisely?

I don't think he's the only one at fault in all this though. It's really bad planning that three of your back four (Vidic, Rio, Evra) could end up moving at the end of the season for minimal return. I know they already have Smalling, Jones and Evans but none of those players are world class. Factor in the need for a new central midfielder and a striker to replace Hernandez and probably one or two others and your looking at a summer of transfers to rival our one last summer.

Scudamore claims United trouble hurts the league.
Boo fricking hoo... Comments like that hurt the notion (further) that you guys aren't unbiased at the top and want only what is best for the brand of the league, i.e. revenue and don't give a crap about the integrity of fair competition, grass roots football and Team England.

Sometimes I really feel football needs tearing up and starting again.

I'm not sure if he is suggesting that he'd like United to be performing better. I'd like to know what the question was that he is answering with this comment,

"It's a double-edged sword," said Scudamore. "When your most popular club isn't doing as well, that costs you interest and audience in some places."

It looks to me like he's been asked if the increased competition in the league means a bigger TV audience. If that's the case he's just given an honest answer which the press have then twisted to make him look like a United fan when he appears to be saying that you gain audience from one place but might loose the United fans.

It really annoys me when they just post the answers to questions without telling you what the question actually is.

To be honest you are likely right, but many have harboured suspicions of favouritism towards certain "top" clubs for years, for the supposed "benefit" of the Premier League.

Stuff like this doesn't help.

A more diplomatic answer would have been to quote Liverpool as an example of how a club can drop off for a bit, regroup and come back strong.

The popularity of the league from abroad won't go down... all those Manure fans are probably heading off to buy the latest Man City/Chelsea tops anyway.

That's so stupid about the plane...Utd fans are entitled to their opinion but that's just fucking spoilt. They've had about 20 years of being dominant and now they can't accept it when things aren't going as well. Bloody hell, Pompey fans would probably love being 8th in the prem and unhappy.

Their first managerial change in what, 28yrs???? Jeez - If we did something similar for every manager we've gone through over the years we'd need to be sponsored by EasyJet to fund it. Laughable if wasn't so ridiculous.

You're not entitled to win everything all the time. Your team loses some times. Get used to it you little brat.
