I predict Utd will finish 3rd based on the roster. The fact that they won it last year over Chelsea and City is a testament to Ferguson's ability.

Couldnt agree with you more, most my friends are United fans and they constantly go on about how good their squad is, persoanally over the last few years I never seen it. IMO its been all down to Fergie's ability to get that extra 10-20% out of his players. I find it difficult to pick out more than 3 world class players in their squad (Vidic, Roon and RVP) and Vidic lately seems done! Compare that to the Man City and Chealsa squad and I am sure Fergie often wonders himself how he manages it.

A few Man Utd supporting mates of mine want him out already, though personally I expect him to be given time and if they do he will be successful.

Interesting that they stuffed Leverkusen twice in the CL, a team that beat Dortmund away yesterday and are 6 points ahead of them in the Bundesliga, cannot be too shabby

Everyone assumes he will get more time, but the owners have never been in this position so who knows how they will react.

Tbh Man U haven't played any differently to how they usually do, only they're no longer getting the rub if the green. Rebounds would have gone in, shots against the bar wouldn't have come back out, and penalty appeals would have been given.

Just desserts, about time they saw what's been like for the rest of us this last 20 years.

If things don't start looking up for them soon, the board will regret allowing Fergie to choose his replacement, instead of entering into a standard recruitment process. It actually went against what would be considered standard business practice.

If Fergie still has as much influence as is suggested then I can't imagine he'd allow the egg on his face which would accompany his personal choice of successor being sacked less than a season into the job. All the while Moyes is struggling to get results with that squad Fergie's reputation is only getting bigger.

"I think we could be classed as one of the favourites to win the champions league" - David Moyes interview after 1-0 victory over Shakhtar.
The man is seriously deluded! Out of all the English clubs I'd say they are the least likely to win it, especially if he keeps lining up with giggs in CM and resorting to Rooney dropping into a deep lying midfield role.
I think it's fantastic, the media really need to start banging the drum as to how poor they are, i think their current form warrants more media scrutiny, especially compared to some of the nonsense avb has dealt with in the last couple of weeks!

The media were starting to bang the drum, but then they went to Germany and stuffed Leverkusen. Showed how good they can be and that game bought him some time even though nearly everything's gone to pot since.

But yes, there's no way they'll win the CL.

United were never going to challenge for the title and I think everyone accepted that, but to finish outside of the top 4 would be nightmareish for them. I really don't think they will finish above Arsenal, Chelsea, City or Liverpool. Potentially even us if we pull our finger out.

I don't know any that want Moyes out. Most of the fans I know, including my pops kind of expected this. My Dad in particular didn't think they were particualrly good last year. he went to the City match at Old Trafford and said they were by far the best team in the league (City). Aguero was injured for a chunk last year and City underperformed of course. You could say United almost won it by default, but the cracks were there.

There is no fear with United now. Everton and Newcastle used to phone in the result at United. We should've beaten the ****s, gifted them two goals.

This doesn't mean anything, some Man U fans wanted Fergie out.
Football fans are bonkers at times.

LOL!! Riggghhhttttt.

I'm sure the board and every supporter thought and accepted exactly that.

Just like last year.

I'm not sure that's true.

Any team that comes off the back of winning the title is surely expected to be there or there abouts again in the next season, particularly with a team like United who have challenged for the title every year that the Premiership has been in existence (more or less).

It's not even as if Moyes has the 'new players to bed in' excuse. In fact he doesn't have much of an excuse at all for their results this season.

To be fair to him he's been very open about it (arguably taking a much better line with the press than our own man in charge) but of all the teams in the Premiership United are underperforming the most by far, and I do wonder how long they'll give him to sort it out.

If they lose to Villa this weekend then he'll be under massive pressure, and with Van Persie out they could really be in for a tricky Christmas.
