Di Marzio says it's 16 million euros plus 4 million in bonuses.

I think he's got his currency wrong. After banking £60m already in sales, I can't see them accepting £12.5m + £3m for a guy one year into his contract who cost something like £8m in the first place.

If that's GBP, then it seems legit.

This guy has been way off the pulse recently.

Don't see how he'd know this anyway.

I think it's clear that Di Marzio has his connections, Baldini being one of them. Outside of that he's just speculating, just like many other journalists.

Yeah I know Baldini is one.

But there is no way the Lovren deal has dragged on this long for Liverpool to get him for the price he's quoting.

Is Toby Alderweireld still a possibility ? Suspect he may be a better buy than Lovren at £20m
I believe there are worries concerning his pace, which is why Spurs are not chasing him? Without me looking to argue for or against him, neither am I looking to open up a "but you don't need pace if you are smart"-debate.

For some reason he's taken a massive shit this season. Totally out of character, the kind of ramble he's been coming out with recently.

Apparently Di Marzio has only met Baldini once.

Doesn't mean he hasn't kept in contact with him.
Come on- you don't honestly think Baldini would just tell Di Marzio everything about our transfer business- I don't doubt that he must have some good contacts in Tottenham but this whole Baldini thing is totally overstated.

Di Marzio's been utter shite this transfer window anyway.

Interesting. Why? How much do you think he is worth? I'm not challenging, just intrigued.
Jan? Well, there's what the market could fetch for him at this point and then there's sanity. Jan is probably a 16/17 mil defender in a sane market with time still on his contract (my projection, of course). He hasn't set the world alight here and has come from a less demanding league.

But in this climate if lovren is going for that much, Jan could then fetch 20/20+ easily I would imagine. Would depend on the usual variables though + if you catch a club with more money than sense and Baldy steals their knickers..

Crazy to think Liverpool have spent nearly £40m on Sakho and Lovren, esp when you take into account that the likes of Koscielny/Mertesacker cost £17m, Kompany/Nastasic cost £21m, Terry/Cahill cost £7m. Heck, even Vlad and Jan cost £18.5m
