If we line up like Wolves last season I don't see where he fits into the team. This attitude and the photos of him training like a beast over the last month can only help him though.

If we keep him and he backs this up with just actions, wonderful. It’s hard not to be sceptical admittedly but not every player would say this.

Him saying that doesn’t really give me the greatest of beliefs that we’ll suddenly see a different Dele. Thing with Dele is that he has an unusual sort of skill set too and some of the annoyances that I have with him were present even when he was scoring and assisting to be honest so that’s for the most part just part of his game.

If he’s not scoring or assisting he can be quite frustrating to watch and if the setup of the team doesn’t allow him to flourish with that in mind I think he can really struggle.

Nuno isn’t going to build a team around him in any way so it’s up to him to try and adapt his game to be more effective.

At least he's acknowledged that he hasn't been good enough. Loads of people on here were adamant it was Jose's fault etc when it was blindingly obvious he was nowhere near the required levels

When Dele played last season it seemed to me that he was dropping way too deep and trying silly unnecessary flicks which often lost possession. I don't want him to stop trying to do skilful things but he needs to be more selective when he does it. But the main difference with Dele was he wasn't making the runs getting ahead of the forwards and scoring goals like he did at the emirates and the bridge. It probable was due to less game time and lack of match fitness but if he can get that back again with a reinvigored attitude, he can get back to his best.

True. I just don't see how he fits into a Nuno team and wouldn't be surprised to see him or Ndombele moved on.
I have question marks over both too. Ndombele’s only real hope is that Nuno looks to play with a 3 in the middle. Dele, we’d need to revert to 4231 I think, or go with a Christmas tree like in 16/17 but that flies in the face of how much Nuno seems to want to work the flanks.

I'd keep Dele out of the two if push came to shove. More goals and assists, home grown etc. Plus Ndombele could probably fetch a higher fee and is paid more. I just don't see where he fits in a PL team. At least Dele is proven.

Oh there's room for him in a Nuno team, problem remain like previous years, it's the same position as Son's

I used to really like Dele-
He's a ****, but he's ours!
Never has this rang more thru than for him a few years ago!
But there's the point- a few years ago! Can he regain IT- whatever IT was?
I'm not so sure and so if we get an acceptable offer for all parties than he could be one let go if the fee goes towards making the squad stronger.

I've got to disagree mate, Dele as part of a front 3 in a 3-4-3 formation would thrive i reckon, wing-backs pushing high up the field would allow him to come narrow and join up with Kane & Son.

I’m inclined to agree but equally, if Ndombele could be incorporated, built around and he lived up to his potential then that could be spectacular.

Lot of IFs though.
