Just saw on the BBC website that:

The cockerel at the top of one of the White Hart Lane stands had to be taken down prior to the match because of high winds

We did well to win without our lucky charm looking down on us :)

You would of thought Niko sat on it judging by some of the comments in here tonight

They mentioned it on the live broadcast, I was scared it would be a bad omen...

How many injuries today?

Since we won, I guess it's not a lucky charm.

Good move though. I saw bins and all sorts flying

i think niko was betrayed by the weather. the gales kept turning against him so he was always running ''upwind''

Yes they showed the stand where the Cockerel should have been. Obviously cursed us though all the injuries we had tonight!

Most people find it's difficult to keep a cock up when it's cold wet and windy.

Once again, PC/health and safety issue take precedence.

I'm sure the old cockerel was less secure in very high winds but it was never moved from its perch until it was replaced (I preferred the old one). Perhaps it was much heavier than the new one.

I'd keep it down in fear that Walker will hit it with one of his shots, ever since that Arsenal goal, he's been taking shots that aren't even close.

It wouldn't have been very lucky if it came chunking down and landed on someone.

So many questions i dont know where to start.
When, why and what happened to the original?
I must`ve been asleep when this happened. I thought it was cleaned and tarted up, not replaced completely. My s/t is in the east stand so haven`t actualy seen it for years.

the orignal was in the east stand before the season started, on the concourse while legends bar was being re-fitted. i had to move it a couple of times. it was with the original sheild but i don't know where they went after that.
