I know he wanted to leave spurs the ****, but he didnt make any public statements, he didnt refuse to play and he didnt say anthing regarding the management of Spurs. His move was identical to Carricks, diffrence being this time Man Utd were caught out loadsa times trying to be underhand. Also you have to remember that Utd were in for him when we signed him first, hence the fat red bastard would have had links to Danechev already. But at least we saw Berbs at his peak, its all down hill from here I hope they get relegated.

i thought for the game against sunderland berbatov told ramos he wasnt in the right frame of mind?

As far as wanting to go and being upset that it wasn't happening i see no fault in him but what did it for me was seeing Corluka and Barry perform while still at clubs they wanted to leave. Berbatov could have worked hard to leave tottenham in as good a shape as posible before going, but didn't. How exaclty we got to the point of him not playing against sunderland orchelsea we don't know, but as far as i'm concerend sulking so that the mangement tell him he's not involved is only marginally less annoying that refusing to play when he was asked to be involved.

could have left a spurs legend, now he's just a great footballer that once played for Spurs. He might be at peace with that opinion but there's a massive difference in my mind.

I'm just glad he has gone.
He showed signs of sulking last season, arms flapping, moaning at players..
great player, but its always difficult working with such a grumpy person.

Good to see him go, I expect him to do well for Utd, but I hope we do them over this year. I also expect Woody to go through him when we play against them, and he will most definitely celebrate scoring against us (although did he really ever actually go nuts when scoring)?

Mostly I'm just glad it's all over. We've been better off for having Berbatov than not having him so I'm nowhere near as p****d off as many on here.

We don't know the full details of the last few weeks so I'm witholding judgement, but I'll always remember Man U being interested last season and he stayed an extra season.

Don't be fooled people Berba said alot just through his agent. Come on people the agent only acts on the instuctions of the client

I think it goes back to the previous year...we almost lost him then but managed to buy another year. He seems to have played a straight bat throughout the saga. It was his agent who advised him...it was also in the agents interest to agitate for a change...commission. It was all about a group of snakes Levy, SAF and the agent. Berbatov has been roasted for weeks by the media and just took it......even when the fans shifted away from him he said nothing. Credit to him.

I don't care for this demonisation of Berbatov either .

Spurs brought him in on the promise of improvement and due to either incompetence or different priorities did not deliver on that promise .

How do you all know he refused to play the first 3 games? Or even that he was in the wrong frame of mind? That may just have been a good excuse from Ramos and Poyet to leave him out of the squad because they felt we needed to move on, knowing he would be leaving. If they had simply dropped him and lost, they'd be torn apart for leaving our best player at home.

I'm disappointed with Berba, but I don't hate him. I'm far more angry at United for the way they've gone about their pursuit. We'll need to get used to this, because I doubt it'll be the last time it happens with our star player.

We can't vilify him without knowing the true story in my opinion. Any player who leaves the club through want (unlike Malbs/Tainio) will get booed - its part of the theatre but I don't think we can be too angry with him.
I read on the Man Utd site that he says Man Utd will be his last club - when you put it like that you can fully understand why he had to move now. I have a sneaking suspicion that he won’t quite reach the heights at united performance wise as he did here, but he will win trophies galore. I can’t see how he has screwed us at all, gave us two very good years, even decided to stay when United came knocking the first time and we didn’t reach the heights we should have done.

I for one feel privileged that we had him for the last two years, yes he was a sulky demoralising count at times but he was a fantastic player for us and I prefer to remember that. He unlike many players wanting a move this window has not come out and shot his mouth off – regardless if his agent has or not. I think he holds us as a club and as fans in high regard.
I am focused on THFC, not Berbatov, not Man Utd. Whatever he does there is out of my sphere of interest.
There seems to be a lot of misplaced anger directed his way as we didn’t sign any big players in his wake – its hardly his fault.

We don’t have to listen to Danchev giving it anymore, that’s not something to be sniffed at!

We should have sold him for a few million less early in the window. Sure we screwed Ferguson over money wise, but it left a bad taste in all our mouths. Like people say, he was always a bit of a loner and always seems disinterested. I'd have preferred him to go overseas, but I don't really hold that much of a grudge against him.

Danchev revealed at a p/c in Sofia that the transfer was extremely difficult. Levy told Danchev that Man U would be the last team he would sell Berbatov to. Danchev hinted that Levy might have invited the offer from Man City. He asked Danchev before they left for Manchester whether he was interested and Dachev firmly denied any interest in joining Man City. Nevertheless, Levy accepted the offer. Before that at meeting at 6 a.m. yesterday Levy agreed to let Berba fly to Manchester and negotiate with Man U. Ferguson met them and while driving them to Carrington Man City called Danchev and asked for a meeting but Danchev declined the proposal. According to Bulgarian media, City would pay £9m more to Berbatov over 4 years than Man U but Berba said he isn't interested in money. Agreement about the price was reached around 20 p.m. Man U had agreement with Wigan to sell them Campbell. Levy asked to give him 2-3 hours to secure another striker. But he failed which forced Levy to ask for Campbell and Man U cancelled the deal with Wigan. Levy agreed the deal 20 min. before the end of the transfer window. Danchev said that Ramos rates Campbell highly.

Berba said good things about Spurs. He said that both Jol and Ramos were exceptionally good to him and helped him a lot, that he is grateful to Levy and fans for their support...

I think we all know money had nothing to do with Berbatov wanting to leave. Glad he paid his respects to Jol and Ramos, that shows some class.

He behaved like a prize ****, he should be banned and Man United docked points for their behaviour throughout this sorry saga. He may not have said much, but actions speak louder than words. He should have given his all for the club that pay his fucking wages until he was employed by another club. I hope he breaks both legs 1st game in a Man Utd shirt, tosser.

Does it really matter?

He is a sublime talent, but a lazy s0d - Jol knew this when he went after him and yet he couldn't turn him round. I am just pleased I had the opportunity to see him in the white of Spurs

He's history as far as THFC go. As for the fcuking about by our esteemed 'executive' - that is another matter and one that will, in all probability, run & run.........

It's up to us to support the white-clad stiffs, whichever of them happen to be picked.
