I think most of my mates hate Spurs because I go on about them so much!

The only team I really hate in the Premiership is Liverpool. Glory-hunting Scousers who have a newcastle-esque mentality of thinking they're the best, who are managed by a fat spanish waiter who constantly complains.

You can't have a football discussion with Arsenal fans, they have no clue. No matter what you are talking about they just tell you that they play the best football in the wrold, meaning all their players must be world class to produce it and results are irrelevant for that reason

Yeah I hate Liverpool because everyone at my school in London supported Liverpool. That's always irked me. They're scum, but at least all the Arsenal fans I know are actually from London.

Bit of a nothing club until that Sheikh rattle and roll bought them. Similar to the Geordies bare trophy cabinet.

They have a squad full of over rated tosh. We will finish above them, no doubt.

got to realise that as we hopefully get better, and keep being in the mix at the top,

we will start to be hated more.

i always say its a sign of a club doing well when others start threads saying they hate them, especially when we have no real history of rivalry.

i would rather be hated then laughed at.

as for the scum...
they can play total football to their hearts desire...
but that wont make me HATE them any less!!

We're hated largely because we think of ourselves as a big club without actually having won anything decent for too long. We tend to talk ourselves up to a much greater extent than we achieve and that get's under the skin of fans from other teams.

If anyrhing, mac city shud be thankful they are where they are now. They could easily have gone into administration. I think its fair to say that all the money they spent were not earned and deserved. I hope and believe this fact will come back to haunt them in the near future. They are by no means a big club and will always be known just as the club with a mega rich owner playing an unrealistic game.

Ain't that an accusation that could be labelled at United pre-Ferguson. Don't bother checking the record books - it is:wink:

We also get a lot of media coverage/hype, that other teams on our level may feel envious of.

I doubt it. Look at how quickly Chelsea became a 'massive club' with Abramovich's millions. A couple of seasons in the CL and challenging for the PL title and they'd have more plastic fans than they'd know what to do with.

Chelsea were a solid club before Abramovich though, they always finished high up in the league and had some cup success, which is vastly different from City.

Yes, because of Matthew Harding, a mini-abramovich! People forget they were a 2nd division team at the end of the 80's and Hardings money took them from a mid-table team to one that finished 6th in the season that he died. They continued an upward trigectory thanks to his investment until Abramovich bought them.

If it weren't for two wealthy benefactors Chelsea would probably still be mid-table.

Exactly, and much like Man City. Although we all know it's going to go terribly wrong for City at some point, and I can't wait!

Seriously though, they hate us? They should be hating themselves.

I reckon one of the reasons City hate us so much may be due to the 81 cup final, their last major cup final appearance and they are constantly reminded about how they lost it when tv companies show replays of Ricky Villa's goal every single season during the FA cup. That and the fact that we're their bogey team, there's no wonder they dislike us!
