Man Utd ready to test our resolve to hold on to Berbs with a 39 million pound bid, which is cash and Saha,so 38 million and Saha in laymans terms.

I hope its just more paper BS,we need to get Berbs to sign a new contract,to put an end to these rumors,it'll only unsettle the guy.

That is an awful lot of money. Wow. I mean, seriously. A lot of money.

Whichever Sun hack plucked that figure out of the air as he staggered back from the pub has my respect.

say NO to Man U! i don't care how much they offer, he's NOT FOR SALE! we're not a fucking small time team where they can just pick off our best players.

yeah £39m breaks down like this

£24M for berby (depending on future appearances, and man u winning the champions league every year for the next 10 years) and £15M rated saha thrown in.

and how much money would it take to replace the disillusioned players after berby is sold? Defoe and mido might perk up though... for a while at least

United plan £39m Berba bid

MANCHESTER UNITED are planning to table a massive offer of £27.5million plus Louis Saha for Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov.

On the day Owen Hargreaves completed his Old Trafford medical, the Reds were set to launch an incredible move worth £39m.

United hope they can persuade Spurs to release their star man by offering £11.5m-rated Saha plus the huge cash sum.

Spurs paid Bayer Leverkusen £10.9m for the Bulgarian international last summer.

Yesterday, Berbatov’s agent Emil Dantchev refused to confirm the player would be at White Hart Lane next season.

Dantchev said: “In football you do not know what will happen tomorrow.”

Spurs are trying to get Berbatov to sign a new six-year contract, doubling his £22,000-a-week deal. United could more than treble it to £70,000 a week.

Berbatov, 26, was a sensation in his first Premiership season, hitting 23 goals and winning rave reviews.

He also has 26 goals in 44 games for Bulgaria.

Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo hit 46 between them for United but boss Alex Ferguson believes Berbatov would be the ideal frontman for the pair to play off.

Hargreaves has played for Bayern Munich against Berbatov in the Bundesliga.

He said: “This season Berbatov has been a breath of fresh air in English football, he just makes the game look so easy at times.”

39mill is a hell of a lot of money, but if we are to break top four, we need class and Berbi is that. Who could we buy to replace him? 39 might be enough to get players, but without CL football, they won't want to come

And Berbi's agent is getting right on my tits, someone tell him to shut his mouth

Unfortunately, we're going to have to put up with stories like this one all summer.

I'd wager it's bollocks, though. There's always a subtle hidden clue that a story might just contain Grade A horse manure, and I think I've spotted it. If you look very carefully, you'll see it contains the words "£11.5m-rated Saha".

What would be funny is if we agreed this deal, berby went down to carricktown (or carrington, where ever) agreed a deal, Man U called the press conf' but at the last minute Loius Saha says "sorry don't want to join Spurs"

Glazers' fume as they cant stump up extra cash, they tear up Loius Saha's contract in a fit of rage, he then joins us for free, teaming up with Berby to form the most lethal "to date" pairing in the Prem wracking up an incredible 75 goals with Defoe and Keane chipping in with 45...

it's believable, well as believable as D Levy needing treatment by a shrink if it happens coz the abuse he will get will make him wish his mumma locked him in the attic and fed him fish heads, while playing abba albums non stop and danced around dressed as grotbags! Eek    :duh: :shake: :hello:

If we sold Berby at any price, I'd have to get my chainsaw out and go to work on some mfkers. Also, no fan would ever trust what Levy/the board would subsequently have to say regarding our aspirations to break into the top four.

At this point, selling berby would be a disastrous blunder for the club and the negativity it would generate would resonate for years to come. Levy is a sharp bloke, he usually sees the big picture, I'm gonna risk a little faith in him on this one.

Really, no. But perhaps we should hang on to Mido just in case.

Seriously, this is Grade-A bollocks.

even if Berby came and begged Levy to let him go, bringing along little bulgarian orphans, Levy still would say no.

he knows we would be laughing stocks if he even considered it

When Everton sold Rooney for 25mil + they thought they had won the lottery, then when the breakdown of the transfer money became apparent it was shown that Kenwright(chairman) was a naive scouser that got robbed when he thought he had done well for the club. (quite an ironic situation based on being a scouser). They only got 10 million up front and the rest on appearances and other crap. That obviously wasn't a good deal at all and they could only replace him with big-tits-Beattie up front and consequently suffered till they got AJ. My point is that no amount of money or add ons will enable us to replace someone of Berbies class and especially not one with daft clauses like Rooneys.

The other point that i would like to concisely make to Man utd is FUCK OFF and buy Torres or play Smith and Ole up front. Just not our Mr Berbatov.

But Ronaldo Rooney and Carrick for Berbs might be worth thinking about
